Hey Everyone!!
I don't know about you but the summer heat turns my face into a oil slick. Its not just my T-zone area like most of the year but my cheeks, under eyes and around my mouth are glossy as hell. Its not that cute "glowy" look either. lol!
So I've decided to start using primers under my foundations and BB Creams again. Yeah, I don't use a primer. I don't know how and why I stopped. Now, I'm on the hunt for a reliable, working, money "savvy" primer.
Check out my take on three primers so far!
From top to bottom:
L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base Face Primer
N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer in Shade 684
tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12 hr Perfecting Primer.
L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base Face Primer
I picked up.17 oz size of L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base Face Primer, which is suppose to be a" trial size", at Dollar General for $5. This base worked well under foundation for about two hours then I was oily again. It totally failed under a BB Cream. I think this base may work better for normal skin.
N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer in Shade 684
DestinyGodley on You Tube ALWAYS has me shopping. lol! The girl is magical with a drugstore product. So when she recommended N. Y.C. Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer, I went right out and bought it. However, it didn't work under my foundation or BB Cream. Its also has this shimmer to it and its lotion-y texture that made me even oilier. Another primer that probably works better for normal skin issues.
tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12hr Perfecting Primer
I received this primer in a travel size set of tarte products( more on that later). It WORKED!!! My oily face held on for hours, like 6 hours before I saw a peek of shiny-ness. It even worked magic under my BB Creams! But here is the gag....a 1.0 oz full size product is...........$30. I feel deflated all over again.:( I'll be honest, it would be totally worth the $30 because I put it under both foundation and BB Cream and it worked magic. Pure magic.Oil be gone for hours. I'm going to have to wait for an Ulta 20% off everything coupon to grab Clean Slate. LOL!
Well, back to the drawing board....I have couple more primers to try, so expect a Part 2 by the end of the month.
What are your favorite primers?? Let me know in the comments!!!
Disclosure: Some products were sent to me for review consideration. I was not paid for this post and all views and opinions are my own.

Boot No7 Shine Free Makeup Base from Target is really awesome and affordable at around $10. This is the best mattifying primer I've tried (and I've tried a lot). The Black Radiance shine control primer also gets good reviews and is worth a try at around $9. I don' think it's nearly as good as the Boots primer, but others rave about it.
