Nail Polish Haul!! CVS, Goodwill, Walgreens, Dollar General, Big Lots!

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

I've been picking up polish and sliding up on some SERIOUS deals in the last couple of days. I look all the polish I've collected in a week and well, it looked like a haul. LOL! Let's get started.....

 CVS

CVS had deal on a new line of polish they are carrying called Pop-arazzi or Poparazzi 2 for $3. I wasn't impressed with the color shades but the line has several nail help polishes like ridge fillers, top coats, growth formulas, etc. All the clear polishes that Poparazzi carries, you can't tell them apart, unless you look at the label at the bottom. My CVS had them displayed wrong so check the bottom label.
 See. SMH!!
***SPOILER: Skip the Quick Dry Top Coat, it's a regular top coat, nothing quick about it. It's trash***
 Walgreens

Grabbed this cute duo of polish out of one of those $1 shelf things at the back of the store.
 Dollar General

One of my Dollar Generals is carrying a new polish line by Broadway Nails called Gel Strong Nail Polish. I've already wore the left one, Peach Macaroon and it sucked in quality, chipped with a day or two. The right one is called UltraViolet.
 Big Lots

If you follow me on Instagram (Rural Glamour), you saw I hit the mother load of drugstore makeup yesterday. I grabbed these two Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes in Mudslide and Grass Slipper. Salon Manicure is one my favorite drugstore polish lines and runs around $8 regular price so this was a STEAL!!

Goodwill

I went into one of my favorite Goodwill stores and they had a ton of unopened makeup from Target but the prices on some was ridiculously high for damaged makeup. I did luck up and grab three Sally Hansen Triple Shine polishes: Dream Sequins,Wavy Blue and Play Koi. I've never used this line of SH polish, mainly because it's priced like the Salon Manicure. Super happy to scoop these up for a $1 a piece!

Scentbird Fragrance Subscription Unboxing March 2015.....

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

I haven't had many subscription "boxes" in the past ( only Julep, Curlbox and Birchbox) but as soon as I saw LoveKisses99 on YouTube do a video on Scentbird, I went immediately to the Scentbird website!!

Scentbird is a fragrance subscription service. They provide authentic, designer fragrances, alot of them very new and current fragrances in the department stores, Ulta, and Sephora. For $14.95 you get a 30 day supply spray according to the fragrances you put in your cue or allow a quiz based on your fragrance personality to pick.

Disclaimer:
I purchased the subscription on my own.

I went in and selected my cue board for the next 12 months. You can switch the scents around for the ones you want to receive each month, just do it before the 5th of the month. Your scent is shipped out on the 15th.

I'm a huge FRAGRANCE lover but buying $80 that I can't get all the way through can be a waste. I literally have perfume from 2005, 1997, 2003 because I never finished them....and I don't want to throw them away. lol Scentbird sounded so perfect for me. Plus, I get to try the most recent releases for only $14.95 a month!

Scentbird ships on the 15th and I received mine on the 17th. Unbelievable. I never get anything that quick. NEVER. lol!

You get your atomizer case and the scent to fill it in. After the 1st month, you only get set the scent to refill the case.
This is how big the scent is in the palm of my hand.

I chose Chloe Love because I've been wanting this perfume since I smelled it two years ago. $85 just wasn't in the budget but now I own it. I probably will not use this size up! I'll savoring each drop. LOL!

My next month is Jimmy Choo Stars Eau Du Parfum. I  CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

You can sign up for Scentbird HERE! Let me know on the here or on Rural Glamour FB what scent you picked for your first month!

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Blue My Mind.....

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

This week manicure is Rimmel London 60 Second Nail Polish in Blue My Mind. Even though it's
fast drying formula, I like it. With a good stroke, it's almost a one coat polish.

RK by Kiss Matte Lip Lacquer Swatches & Review......

Hey Everyone!!

Matte lip lacquers are the current big trend in makeup these days along with contouring kits. It's like every company is making them and charging arm and leg ( up to $25) for one matte lip gloss. Ya'll know I'm not down with that unless it's a shade or formula I must, MUST have. I was happy to find out and find that BSS ( beauty supply store) brand RK by Kiss did their own matte lip lacquer for only $3.99( the price at my local BSS). I grabbed up four shades:

Left to right: Ruby, Queen, Rosy, and Wonderland

Swatches left to right: Wonderland, Rosy, Ruby and Queen.

I have mixed feelings about them.....

#1 I don't like the lip lacquers that dry down matte. They are very uncomfortable on me. These don't dry down to a matte, so that didn't bother me.

#2 However, RK by Kiss Matte Lip Lacquers are a sliding mess. They slip and slide all of over your mouth. They have a mousse-y wet texture that you can't put on multiple layers. One light layer of color is almost enough.

#3 They are not that matte, more like satin. They are very pigmented though.

I doubt I'm pick up anymore shades. I watched Youtuber PlatinumD do a swatch video on these and none of the other colors are worth the run for.

Kiss New York Lip Glace Swatches & Review.....

Hey Everyone!

I've been hitting the jackpot when it comes to finding BSS and drugstore Spring releases. I ran up on these new lip glosses at the local beauty supply store by Kiss New York called Lip Glace. They were $2.99 and since I'm not a big gloss girl anymore, I picked up only three shades....for now. :)

Left to right: Natural, Lavender, and Deep Purple
Swatches left to right: Natural, Lavender, and Deep Purple

These glosses have the same texture as Maybelline Color Elixir glosses. Not sticky with great pigmentation and about $3 cheaper. If you love natural glossy lips, Natural is a perfect shade for brown girls. Deep Purple is like a glossy MAC Heroine purple shade. Lavender is not that wearable unless you want to ombre or fade out a dark purple lip. I plan on picking up a couple more shades!

Wet N Wild Silver Lake Limited Edition Collection Haul + Swatches......

Monday, March 09, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

The Wet N Wild limited edition product game is a wild goose chase. You never know if you will find their limited edition items. I just happened to swing into my favorite Walgreens ( a 24 hr one and I was told by a Walgreens Beauty Advisor that 24hr Walgreens store get more beauty stuff than Wags that actually close at 11pm) and the Silver Lake collection was sitting there, literally untouched.

Jack-muthaphuckin'-pot!!!! LOL!!

I only picked three out of the five palettes and three out of the six polishes.....
California Roll, Thrift Store Chic and Vinyl Collection
Tree Hugger, A Latte Love and Wear Skinny Jeans
 Swatches of Vinyl Collection
 Swatches of California Roll
Swatches of Thrift Store Chic

The eyeshadows are so soft and pigmented ( the swatches are one swipe, no primer) and reminiscent of the old Wet N Wild palettes they discontinued. I can't wait to play around with these!! Maybe WnW has been listening to the girls on social media to bring back the old shadow formulas. Hmmm......:)

Missy Lynn Eye Shadow & Baked Highlighter Palette Review + Swatches......

Hey Everybody!

Let's just jump into things.....:)

I ordered the Missy Lynn palette literally within the hour on the initial day she posted on Facebook about it. However, it took BH Cosmetics 7 days to get it to me. No fault to her, but to BH Cosmetics. It was my first order with them and I'm not sure I'll be ordering anything else them. I'm crazy serious about shipping logistics.

That is one thing no company wants to play with me about...shipping.

If you haven't already seen pictures, videos or posts on the Missy Lynn palette, here it is!

You get six shadows and two highlighters. The palette itself has a magnetic closure and comes with a good sized mirror.

Here are swatches in order as they come in the palette. My hand has no primer and this one swipe per finger per shade.
This is the first look I created with the palette. I played around some the neutrals and one of the purple shades.
Consensus...

1) Excellent price for a six shadow/two highlighter palette. It is under $12 without shipping.

2) I found that shadows are bit sheer. If you want serious pops of color or heavy pigmentation, you will have to use a cream or white shadow base underneath. I noticed in several tutorials on this palette on YouTube, that alot of girls were doing that cream/white base process. I used a basic shadow base ( Black Radiance shadow primer) and found the shadows to need a little arm work to show up.

3) The highlighters are GORGEOUS. STUNNING.

Will you be buying the Missy Lynn palette?!?
