Review:Revlon Age Defying Instant Firming Face Primer....

Monday, January 11, 2010

Revlon Age Defying Instant Firming Face Primer ( whew! seriously cosmetic companies...tone these names DOWN) is a CVS Clearance goody. I was giddy to find it since I don't normally wear primers. Its time to try out some!

Pros:
-The consistency is like a moisturizer. Smooth and sinks into the skin.
-I did see after applying the primer and my foundation a change in my pores. They looked less exaggerated, but just a little.

Cons:
-The SMELL is awful. It smells like craft glue..very chemical. Ugh!
-If it hadn't been 75% off, I would've bought it. Not it a drugstore primer for 12.00. I can get Smashbox primer for a couple more dollars than that and no horrid smell.
-What 'Firming'?
-What 'Defying'?

Consensus:
-Could be okay product without the smell and price.

Review:NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone and White....

Hello Family!!!

Its good to be back in the land of the painless...literally. I was sicker than sick for a week then things turned around about 4:00 am this morning. Whew, God is good, I tell ya!! **Cue the shouting music** ***Dancing**

Ok, now that I've shouted it out for the zillionth time today...let get on to a review of NYX Eyeshadow Bases in Skin Tone and White. I can do these in one review because really, they are the same base...just different shades.

Pros:
-I like the whole little jar thing. you only need a dab to cover your lid. I have a small eye area, so I just dab my finger in the color and pat it on. I use it like a cream eyeshadow, just pat it on, not rub.
-The coverage it good. Not spotty going on in either color.
-The Skin Tone color is, of course, not my match but I knew that. Please YA'LL know that. Don't expect it to be the perfect caramel honey shade. Its just a base.
-Good price. $6 a piece. I've been using for about three weeks and haven't made a dent.
-The eyeshadow stayed on all day with the base...but I dont have excessive oily lids and rarely crease unless its some really wack shadow.

Cons:
-The white and skin tones are no different. The white is suppose to make the color brighter...uhm...I saw no difference. **shrugs**

Consensus:

Love them! I'm starting to dig NYX...of course I'm late on that train but do I care? **smiles**
I got mine at Cherry Culture.

2010 Beauty Resolutions....

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

I actually made a video! Which leads me right into my 2010 Beauty Resolutions!

1) Make more beauty related videos for Rural Glamour. I'll be talking about all kinda stuff! No tutorials. I'm not the biz with that. Plus I need find another place in my house to do videos because the acoustics in my bathroom suck.

2)Be better about my skincare.

3) Stay natural for a year.

4) Expand my fragrance tastes and senses.

5) Have a wig wardrobe

6)Apply false lashes.
