Best Makeup Tip I Ever Read...for now:)

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

I never been a fan of eyeliner. It makes my eyes smaller. But over the last couple the months I've found out that I can't do the whole eye lined but just the top lid. Hurdle #1 accomplished.

Then I had to find an eyeliner that consistency I liked. Eyeliner pencils looked to smugy and just couldn't master that liquid liner mess. Grrrr! But, I am not one to give up...on makeup( ex: false eyelashes). But then I found Precious and Makeup and it was a done deal.

She gives the best makeup advice on her Beauty Blog Network Page...

"Favorite Makeup Tip
New to liquid eyeliner? First, line your eyes with a regular pencil eyeliner and then, trace over the pencil liner with a liquid liner. "

I tried this with hope and faith...and Tarte liner and a Mark Kohl liner in both black and it works like a charm!!

Check out my FOTD from today...ah, bliss. Thanks Precious!

Monday's Question?

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

There are days I still ask myself why am I still in Hometown. Four years ago, it was an everyday question that consumed me but now I see God's beautiful plan. I don't worry as much, very little actually about still being back home, it's working for my good. But TODAY I had to ask?

Why am I still in Hometown?!

I went to Sal and ran up on some books for the kids, another vintage purse and these earrings for .10 a piece. This a pic withou the flash so ya'll can see the cool lines in the white and blue pair.

I wore the blue ones today. I love them. I felt so my Momma circa1983. Good buys and things at the Sal that other people would realize as vintage fabulousness...plus for hometown....

Then the kids and I went to a certain store ( no names mentioned) that has the hot updated magazines and that's basically only reason why I go but lately they got these $1.00 pack of Brazilian coffee that tastes like that Starbucks Espresso Roast that love. So, we go to get some and coffee creamer. I pick up a coffee creamer and for some reason check the date on it. 11/04/07. Way out of date...but usable. I take it up to register and ask the cashier if I could talk to a manager about getting this out-of date creamer reduced. Hell, I'll buy it. It's 1.99, mark it down to .99. The "manager" refused citing that she can't do "markdowns.

Whatever. I don't want it. But ya'll need to pull the rest off the shelf. And I had another cashier do it for me BEFORE. Check that too.

That was some ole' Hometown stuff there. I guarantee its still there. I'm done with that place. They won't lose no money behind me leaving no way.

Negative for Hometown.

Then...the kids and I go CVS for prescriptions and just wasting time. The boys love CVS. They way too big for a shopping cart so they get walk around...well, straight to the candy section and aisle. The CVS' here have these markdown shopping carts full of goodies. The first one I dig into has these ROC Daily Microdemabrasion Cleansing Disks that Glam Mom Tia was posted about a week or two ago. And you are not seeing things, lovelies...the price on the side 2.50 is correct. I got them for 2.50. Un opened and everything.

I would not have found that deal in the 'Burg or the QC, man.

Hometown positive...sales @ CVS markdown buggies.

I still don't have the answer to the question. Maybe because I get good deals? lol!

BigGyrl Fab Outfit 04/13/08 and Death to the Washing Machine...

Monday, April 14, 2008

My Sunday Best!:
Top-It's Fashion
Shoes-I can't remember but my Momma said she had a pair like that too and she couldn't remember where she bought either.
Skirt-Issac Mizrahi for Target via The Hillcrest Goodwill Store
Belt- Simply Fashions
Headband- an old scarf off a dress my Momma gave away
Earrings-Tiffany( for real.)
Bangles- you know!....This N' That!

Don't look happy? It was beautiful day and a beautiful service even though Boo and Spoo acted like they had never been out in public. I think they plan to show out before we go to church. Kids.

Everything was going fabulous, Momma cooked, we ate, no TV for the kids because "acted" up ... then my brand new washing machine....

Messed up my clothes. Seems that after I washed a load of white clothes with Ecover Bleach, there was bleach residue still in the machine that messed up ( Lord help me!!) 80% of my spring and summer clothes from last year. I mean my favorite grey dress from Target and the shirt that I just wore in the picture above! Boo came over to this pile and said "Your clothes messed up." Thanks Pumpkin.

I'm sad.

Reclaimed...

Saturday, April 12, 2008

I made it a personal challenge this week to reclaimed my love for Victoria's Secret Blosssoming Romance.

Why?

Well, when I and "Fashion Boy" first started to kick it, I wore it so much. He loved it. So I wore it. Ya'll know how that go. And then we were over( like three times) and I stopped wearing it. It reminded me of the time wasted with that well-dressed psycho. Then a co-worker of mine had it on and decided to reclaim it as one of "my" favorite scents.

I've wore it THREE days in a row. How is that for "reclaim":)

Goodies from the "Sal" 2

This "little" haul happened Monday at the Sal. I been giving this one in Union a chance and have been coming up on the come up. No clothes though. I don't that kind of patience in there sometimes....

Vintage handbags. I carried the black one to work and my "Muse" was like "Work it Diva!"( I have to tell you about the "Muse" later. I must be granted permission.:))
Wooden bowls( for my jewelry), vintage lamp and cups and saucers.

Books for Me and the midgets.

Hand knitted afghan. I washed it good and dried it with a Downy Simple Pleasures Lavender and Vanilla Dryer Sheet. Kel has been laying under it since.:)
