New at Bath & Body Works: Orange Sapphire...
Friday, March 19, 2010
I grabbed a 2 fl.oz. Orange Sapphire up for $1, now at Bath and Body Works. I love the B&BW is doing that, letting you test out new seasonal scents for a great price. Of course, I used Orange Sapphire, in the morning, and it is a amazing wake up call of a scent. The notes in Orange Sapphire are blood orange, mandarin, white jasmine, golden honey, citrus sangria. Its citrusy and bright, and a bit familiar. Either B&BW or Victoria’s Secret has done this scent before because I’ve owned it. But, in any account, I think I’ll be snatching Orange Sapphire Shower Gel up to put beside my over- abused Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Wash! I received also a coupon for a Free Body Care Item with any purchase of $10 or More that starts March 29th. Go in get your bargain wake up call on! Lol!

Review: Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser....
As spring rears its head in the good old South, I have started to prepare for the summer ahead. Everything from finding new recipes that don’t require turning on the stove to what will be my fashion story in that heat are on the list. One thing on the top of the priority list is my arms. They will be a story of their own, mainly because I wear tank tops all season long. I have started working them out with light weights. But, what about my underarms?
I know, no one wants to talk about their underarms, but this wonderful product, Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser will! Yes, Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser “is designed to gently and efficiently remove all traces of antiperspirant deodorant residue”. That is it does! I’ve been using the Clarsskin Cleanser for a week and it is amazing! You get a super clean underarm area with just pea-size of the product rubbed in with your fingers, no sponge or facecloth required. I was just overwhelmed with clean underarms! I admit, for years have scrubbed the mess out if my underarms especially before shaving. No more, you can use this to shave, the results are one of smoothest shaves you’ll ever have. The other benefit is no yellowing of clothes because Clarsskin removes those ingredients that basic soap or body wash leave behind. It’s worth every penny. :)

My Favorite Makeup Brushes....
I actually do have some beauty favorites. Most beauty addicts have favorites or Holy Grails but as soon as something else comes by better, we give that favorite the peace sign! These are my favorite brushes ranging for high end to low end…it works great that way. :)
Mally Spoolie Brush- Spoolies, not little brushes, only work on my wild brows. The brush had a pencil at the end, I think, but it still serves great purpose to my brows.
Salon Collectives Eye Shadow Brush- I purchased this at Walgreens as they were clearancing it out. It was less than $2.00. It’s perfect for packing on color and applying on my small eye space.
Essence of Beauty Kabuki Brush- EOB cornered the market in cheap brushes and this one is its crown jewel in my opinion. It’s big, round and incredibly plush. Don’t you go and by some $50 kabuki brush. CVS has this one for a mere $10.
Tarte Cosmetics Double Ended Brush- This brush came in an eye shadow set that I got from Tarte couple years back and it’s the best of both worlds. One end is a flat eye shadow brush and the other side is a crease brush that fits like a glove in my eye crease.
MAC 129SH – Looks familiar? It’s from the Icon Collection Diana Ross from, I believe, 2005(go ahead; I give you a minute to cringe). But, I can’t get rid of it. No matter how much I wash it, it’s stays soft, pliable and an awesome blush brush.
MAC 187SE – I just recently got this in a set and it is everything it’s cracked up to be. It applies wet foundation to dry blush with perfection. It blends anything you dip it in seamlessly. No wonder the regular size of this brush is $38.

Review: Lush Grease Lightening....
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Pros:
-Perfect for beginning stage breakouts
-No irritation
-No drying out of the skin
-Dries clears and doesn’t flake
-Soothing to the breakouts
-Works well under makeup
Cons:
-Doesn’t work as well on breakouts with a head or cystic acne
-Too much products comes out in one pump
Jamie’s Take:
I used Grease Lightening when I was having a hellish breakout. I had some cystic breakouts, irritated skin and small breakouts all at once! I used it on all of it and the smaller, newer pimples cleared out overnight. I also used it in the morning and then applied foundation and powder and Grease Lightening didn’t flake or move and the combo of three didn’t irritate my skin. It’s a great ‘stage one’ spot treatment but for advanced acne, it didn’t work. Also, it’s a great product if you ‘greening’ your regimen and you need to add a spot treatment.

In the morning when I rise....Weleda Sea Buckthorn Products...
Friday, March 12, 2010
I can’t say I’m not a morning person. I BECAME a morning person on August 18, 2004(the day the boys’ were born)!! So, I got to get up regardless of being exhausted and start the day as bright as I can. Staying bright in those early hours is the problem. Seems as though the orange, mandarin, and grapefruit trilogy that makes Weleda Sea Buckthorn Products have been became a blessing on the most roller coaster of mornings. I start off with Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash as the perfect citrus shower oasis, then on to the Sea Buckthorn Body Oil that can be applied on wet or dry skin. Either way, it soaks in instantly and then the scent just mellows out. You can even apply whatever fragrance you like and the notes won’t compete with the Creamy Body Wash/Body Oil Combo. Even better, you can always remember the good time you had this morning with the Sea Buckthorn Hand Crème all day. There will be no sliding pens or pencils out of you hand. The Hand Crème soaks in a flash. Off to a fresh, new morning!!

Rural Glamour: Revlon Illuminance Creme Eye Shadow in Electric Pop....
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
I actually own two other Illuminance Creme shadows....They are dirt old...I mean pre-kids old. I used rock the hell out the second one. See, its at pan! I didn't really care about creasing, shading, blending back then.
I used all four colors.
If you don't care about creasing, buy it. Its really pretty and I plan on using it for base colors...
Review:Lush Dark Angels...
Tuesday, March 09, 2010
“This is our soft black sugar scrub that feels oh-so-good when you rub it in and leaves your skin glowing. The velvety texture is sprinkled with black sugar and powdered charcoal to gently exfoliate and cleanse away excess oils. We add rhassoul mud and vitamin-rich cold pressed organic avocado oil to soften, moisturize and nourish skin, as well as sandalwood and rosewood oils to soothe. We're all in love with this daily cleanser (even those of us who don't have young or oily skin can't resist it!).”
Lush Website on Dark Angels Cleanser
Pros:
-effective as a scrub. Closed pores, smoothed my skin
-Clean smell. I think smells like good ol’ tea tree oil
-Washed off well. No sixths, sevenths, or eighth washes
-a pinch is all you need. Will last a good while
Cons:
-after washing, left an oily film that I wasn’t sure I liked. I like squeaky clean skin after scrubbing
-Some might not like the smell
-Overscrubbing and overuse might have contributed to a breakout
Jamie’s Take:
When I first started using Dark Angels, I was impressed by the effect that it had on my skin. Within a week, the larger pores on my face had closed up and my skin felt great. I was using twice day which have led to a breakout the next week. Yes, I blame myself for a breakout. I was over scrubbing. I would suggest using this twice a week at night, so that your skin can repair itself from the scrub. Great exfoliater. I need to get to a Lush store quickly!!

Rural Glamour: NARS Silent Night....
Monday, March 08, 2010
Golden, crusty, glittery. To me, typical NARS shadow. For their shadows to run in the $2o range for one shade, they are chock full of glitter...not shimmer, people....GLITTER. Oh really?!?
Combined it with two of my wonderful specimens of eyeshadow of the NK HD kind....
Here's what I got for a breezy Saturday afternoon at Mickey D's and the Dollar Tree with the muffins...
