Review: YSL Parisienne....

Thursday, October 15, 2009

I dream of Paris... going there....just to shop at Parisian pharmacies, eat crepes, sight see, listen to French R&B and jazz....

I'll get there one day. I remember one of my good friends went to Paris on her honeymoon....I'm still 'wow'd' by her pictures and words when I think of it.

Last week, Total Beauty sent me YSL Parisienne ( pronounced Pa'ree' see' enne...I heard it pronounced a 'different' way so I wanted to see how its pronounced, I took Spanish not French:))

Parisenne's notes are blackberry, damask rose, and sandalwood. I totally agree with Mischo Beauty and that I smell the damask rose and blackberry but even after it dries down and wears a bit, there is no trace of sandalwood. I'm a woodsy scent kinda girl and I didn't catch the sandalwood. But I did noticed that it smells like another YSL fragrance....Baby Doll.

I wore Baby Doll for a year...2005. So I'm pretty familiar with the notes. Parisienne smells exactly like it. Even Baby Doll claims to have a cedarwood base...but it doesn't!!! lol!

But, overall, I enjoy wearing it. Its a light, day time scent( agreeing with Mischo Beauty again;))...perfect for work wear when want to smell good but not offensive. I think I lot of guys would like it on the ladies, too!

Just Like the Real Thing: Be Fabulous....

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Bullet Point...because I really can't get my thoughts together...blame it on rain and my monthly "shift"....

-I was cleaning out my wallet looking for gas money ***looks around for reaction*** and came across a Cato gift card...with 7.54 on it. After I got some gas :), I went to Cato's to spend it and found "An Impression" of DKNY Be Delicious Night...the fragrance I have been literally coveting for a YEAR. It was 4.99. And compared to my mini-itty-bitty sample that I had been squeezing out of the real thing at home...it smells EXACTLY like it.

***They also had "Impressions" of Gucci,Jessica Simpson Fancy, and others..***

***PS***I bought it. Just my FTC ruling on...:)

NOTD: Essie Angora Cardi...

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Okay...let me see if I can type this NOTD...just had to kick some kids out of the room so I can focus!

It's Essie Angora Cardi...sent to me by Miss Kim( thanks Diva)...It was sold out at two Trade Secrets in the area and I wasn't driving all the way to Greenville to Ulta to see it sold out again.

The big surprise about Angora Cardi is that ONE COAT is really all you need. One coat was opaque as three coats might have been. I was 'wow'd' on that...especially from Essie. A year ago, they were still pumping out the same color of nude just with different names now they are on the come up!! Go Essie!

NK HD Project:Weekend Smokey and Church Blues and Browns

Monday, October 12, 2009

I play in my make-up constantly.

I learned the hard way that this was a good way to learn any technique.

This weekend, I 'played' in the makeup...

Sunday, I wore NK HD shadows in #3021 and #3016
I also used NK Reflection Duo lipstick/lipgloss in R001....a berry, chocolate color. It was $1.99
I freaking love this duo...I must go check out the other colors again....
Complete look for Sunday!!! With a goofy smile:)

Saturday, on my way out, I practiced and rocked a smokey eye with NK HD in #3017 and Sephora Duo in No 5....

I think I did really good....Smokey eyes are tricky for my eye...this a probably a year's worth of progress...

NOTD: Hard Candy Mr. Wrong....

Believe it or not....

The 2nd Wal-Mart I checked...had the entire Hard Candy line....( for peeps in my area, its the E. Main Street Wal-Mart in Spartanburg. Dorman Center Wal-Mart has it too:))

I stood and picked, edited, open cellophane packages of super cute products. But at the end, it was just pretty, trendy packaged makeup that I had seen before....I thought none of of it was fresh or new, just cute and cheap.

I felt like Hard Candy belonged in Target but the prices would be WAYYYY higher.

I'll kept perusing and scoping out everyone else's review before I buy anything else. I'm actually proud of myself for not getting caught up in packaging because I do. I'm a Marketing dream customer!

I only picked up Mr. Wrong Nail Polish....thanks to Nouveau Cheap who did a NOTD and review on it:)!

Picture do no justice. Its a gold/silver/ copper foil with undertone of a shimmery purple.... I own nothing like it...so can't compare it. But I can say if you don't buy anything from the Hard Candy line....get Mr. Wrong. It a nail polish homerun.:)
