~Fresh Coat~ Wet N' Wild MegaLast Salon Color in I Red A Good Book....

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

I love perfect red nail color....And yes, I'm  turning into my mother, because she ONLY wears red polish. smh.

But, seriously, my hand feel so pristine and manicured when I'm wearing red polish. I got alot of compliments on I Red A Good Book today, I was surprised. This is two coats, its sort of sheer, I can still see my nail underneath but it doesn't photograph like that.

I like the brush too, its one of those precise brushes like Sally Hansen Insta-Dry has. Wet N' Wild calls there brush ManiCurve Pro Brush. It gives that less nimble some what precise strokes.

But, alas, I don't think I'll be buying anymore of these Mega Last polishes, I'm not impressed by the color selection. Its very "done already". Unless I see some interesting swatches floating around the web...I Red A Good Book will be my last "read" on this collection.

So tell, have you tried this line of polishes? What are some good colors to scope out?

~Monthy Beauty Favorites!~ February 2012....

Monday, March 05, 2012

Hey cuzins!!

Here are my favorites from February....all beauty, no chaser.:)

Big Girl Cosmetics Lip Gloss in #54- beautiful pigmented copper brown reminds me of one of my first MAC lipsticks I ever bought, "O". I got in My Shade of Brown Pillow Box....

Wet N' Wild Mega Shield in Bare-ly Legal- perfect pinky brown nude...top it with a little gloss for more punch. The down side to it is, that it doesn't last but the colors of the Mega Sheilds are beautiful, I keep buying them!

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes in Black- great combination of a lengthening and voluminzing mascara...and packaging is gorgeous too.

Revlon Photo Ready in Cappucino- How did I get back to this foundation? Its called 75% off CVS Beauty Clearance. I did a review on this foundation over a year ago, and hated its red undertones however that color photographs flawless in my pictures and looks better now for some reason. If you are a fan of this shade, its 75% off at CVS...I actually saw it the other day at one of my local CVS'.

Ruby Kisses Mineral Powder in Chesnut- Ya'll know how I love beauty supply store makeup. I got this at a locall BSS and its a perfect match. It looks beautiful buffed on and it was only $4.99.

Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar- I almost didn't buy this, due to its $9.99 price tag at Walgreens of all places. I love Milani just as much as the next girl but their prices are sometimes questionable. Plus, they rarely have sales. Amber Nectar is a MUST BUY. Its a perfect swirl of a highlighter. I use it under my eyes and my fave lights up. I've used it everyday since I got it.
I scored  the Eco Tools Beautiful Expressions Kabuki Set on the Walgreens Clearance end cap for $6!!! I believe the regular price for it was between $12 -$14. Great little brushes for all types of jobs...the contour brush is perfect for the hollows of my cheeks.

As for hair...my favorite moisturize and seal combo is Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and Mimosa Hair Honey. My porous 4b-4c hair just drinks up the shea butter and oils these products possess!

So, here are my favorites for the month..... do you have any February beauty favorites? Let me know!!!

~Fresh Coat~ Polish Haul!!!

Sunday, March 04, 2012

Hey cuzins!!!

I've been picking up polish here and there with no rhyme or reason...just colors and formulas and PRICES that catch the eye....

Its crazy...I probably own about seven or eight E.L.F. polishes but I haven't worn not ONE of them.:/ I bought this set at Big Lots because of that orange shade. lol!
I finally found Revlon Whimsical and Essie Shine of the Times. I literally kissed the Whimsical bottle in Rite-Aid when I picked it up!! True story...there were only one of each of these colors on their respective displays, like they were waiting on me to buy it!! I call it..."beauty karma"!!
I put Shine of the Times on top of Kleancolor Funky Yellow that I bought at a local BSS. This picture doesn't capture the epic holographic flaky glitter that it is....

I put Whimsical on top of WnW Bird Bath...I knew that Whimsical was sheer and needed a base due to my research and the posts I had saw of it....

Its everything...I mean...worth all that Walgreens, CVS' and Rite-Aids I went into to find it!!
Along with picking up Kleancolor Funky Yellow...I got two Sally Hansen Hard As Nails from the Dollar Tree and picked up Wet N' Wild's new Megalast polish in I Red A Good Book.

Whew!!! What do ya'll think? Do you own any of these colors? Let me know!!

~Hair~ Real Spotted: New Natural Hair Products in Sally Beauty Supply!

Thursday, February 23, 2012

I call it.... "Trying to get in where you fit in"...

Alot of the "mainstream" or more popular ethnic hair care lines are coming out with their own natural hair care lines. I've seen some people get in an uproar about it...hair is also a business, these companies are trying to get in where they fit in. Natural hair is big business these days and these companies recognize that. The average natural hair girl, especially in her first year natural, is a PRODUCT JUNKIE. So that equals $$$$$ for those companies when you have a new natural trying to figure out what works.

I personally dig it. I like accessible products. I live a rural area so if I can buy it on the shelves and not have to order it and wait on it show up, I will. Most of favorite products right now have to be ordered online.

However, I have to drive 35 minutes to the nearest Sally Beauty Supply. LOL! Yep...but a 35 min drive is better than a 4-5 day shipping wait any day. *shrugs* BUT only if the product works on my hair.

Interesting signs under products normally made for chemically processed hair....can you say #Marketing101??
Dr. Miracles has a line...my problem with Dr. Miracles as a whole is that they don't list the ingredients on the bottles. Has that changed???
Curl Care is also by Dr. Miracles....
Curls Unleashed by Organic Root Simulator....
As I Am...this not all their products. I just took a photo of the Coconut Co-Wash and Cleansing Pudding. The Coconut Co-Wash was $7.99 but the Cleansing Pudding was $21.99...sharp difference in a price for no-poo/low poo cleansers. Some these products, the prices were in the $20+ range...

Finally, saw the Beautiful Textures products all the boards and vloggers have been raving about. I took one sniff....and I was done. I won't be buying any of it because the smell is not my cup of tea. Smells like Hot Six Oil....ya'll know what that is?!! LOL! I'm dating myself.

~Fresh Coat~ Real Spotted: New Nail Colors and Products!

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Hey Cuzins!! Long time no see, huh....eh....:)

So, I was out and about yesterday, and spotted some new nail goodies in Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart.

L'Oreal LA entourage collection...Guess its based on the show...Interesting dark purple shade in the middle of all those pastels. I'm looking for a banging coral for my toes this summer and the perfect yellow for my hands...one of hard colors for me to wear on my hands....
Spotted some CVS Exclusives of the Kardashian Kolor Collection...I've been burnt once by this collection so I just took some pictures and kept it moving...

My Wal-mart had Nailene Gel Polish Kits complete with the Gel Curing Lamp. I think the price was $49.98...which isn't bad for the lamp. I'm putting this on my wishlist.:)

Have you spotted any of these goodies? Let me know!!
