Introducing JLuxe by JLO + Enter to Win #JLuxebyJLO fragrance! @JLO

Sunday, April 26, 2015

Disclosure: This is a sponsored giveaway post. I was sent product for review. All reviews are forthright and honest.

Hey Everyone!!

It's ya neighborhood fragrance junkie coming through with a new scent to talk about! LOL!

It's true, ya'll know I love to smell good so when the opportunity came through to try JLO's ( Jennifer Lopez new scent, I was down. One thing Ms. JLO does know how to do, and that's make a scent. I remember layering the original JLO scent, lotion, fragrance, maybe more lotion back in 2003. :)

Now, 12 years later a new fragrance has launched exclusively in Kohl's called JLuxe by JLO.

Here's some details on the notes:

Fragrance Notes
 Top: Juicy Pineapple, Bergamot, Sweet Raspberry
 Heart: Soft Violet, Damascenian Rose, Orris, Ylang Ylang
 Base: Warm Amber, Cedarwood, Musk

From the first spray, I caught the fruity notes of the pineapple and raspberry. As the scent dried down, the warmth of the amber, musk and floral middle notes came through. It's a sexy fragrance but is wearable day and night. I absolutely adored it that I wore it three days straight!

You can pick up JLuxe by JLO at Kohl's stores or online at Kohl's.

Scentbird April 2015 Unboxing.....

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Hey Everyone,

I know there are not alot of 2nd month Scentbird unboxings on the internet. I know because I checked. I've found that subscription boxes tend to  change after the 1st month. That 1st box, they want you to be excited so it's perfect, then that 2nd, 3rd, 4th month becomes....interesting.

I received my 2nd Scentbird shipment in a pretty decent time frame after was shipped. I would say about three business days, just like the 1st one. Initially, when I checked my Scentbird account on April 15, 2015( because I had not received a shipping confirmation and it ships on the 15th), it had me not even receiving an April scent. It had next shipment for May 15, 2015. I thought they had skipped a month on me and didn't tell me!! But it was resolved within hours, and I received my April scent.

I chose Jimmy Choo Stars. It is EVERYTHING. I immediately thought "I've been wearing wayyy too many cheap perfumes because this smells expensive!!" LOL! That right there tells you I haven't had a "good" perfume in years.

After the 1st shipment, you don't get an atomizer, you only got the refill to put in the atomizer. This the box Jimmy Choo Stars came in.

****I did have a problem.****

Jimmy Choo Stars would not spray. It would only squirt the scent out. I tried twisting the top, putting it in and out the atomizer but it only squirted the perfume out. I contacted Scentbird and they are sending me a replacement. I already have the tracking so, we will see, when it shows up.

Are subscribed to Scentbird?? What month are you on? 1st, 2nd, 3rd???

How To Get Your Hands On Sold Out Lilly For Target The Savvy Way...... #lillyfortarget

Sunday, April 19, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

I've been fully amused by this Lilly for Target situation that has terrorized the preppy shopper. I'm not a Lilly fan but I FEEL the pain.  I've been in the middle of several MAC collection online sell outs. A NYX 50% off  online sale that made so mad I wouldn't wear NYX for a LONG time. I was in the middle of the Target x Missoni bs four years ago. I ended up with a blanket throw.

A blanket throw....at first.

Then I went back to Target over a couple weeks and found that returns has came through and ended up with some makeup bags and other items.

I'm going to give you a couple of tips on how to get your hands on this sold out collection the smart and easy way.

First, things first....Target is saying there will be no restock. However....

1) Keep checking the store for Lilly returns.

Go to customer service first and check over that counter and see what's back there. If you want it that bad, you will scoop the back counter and ask can you see the Lilly returns.

2) Ebay is not going to give you any glory, so saved those scalloped edged tears for Instagram and Facebook.

I've already seen on Instagram some decent deals for less than Ebay. Instagram search #lillyfortarget and you find already SEVERAL resale accounts. Make sure if you do a purchase, they send you a Paypal invoice( no Paypal Friends & Family, it doesn't protect a refund, if needed) and you pay via Paypal. Ask questions too: "When do you ship?", "How do you ship". Don't buy for anyone that shows a stock photo and not the real purchase photo. Stock photo just screams flim flam.

I just saw a girl on a Kate Spade planner group sell Lilly For Target headties so resale groups will be popping up. Search for Lilly for Target resale groups or Lilly Pulitzer groups on Facebook. Use common sense when purchasing.

3) Check the Goodwill.

Target donates to Goodwill Industries in most cities. In about month or two, some of that Lilly stuff will show up there. I've seen with my own eyes those designer collections show at the GW. Last week I saw several pieces of that Peter Pilotto collection at a local Goodwill. I'm always shocked at some of the Target stuff that ends up there, so don't be afraid to venture in there within the next two or three months maybe be earlier. I bought several pieces of that new plus size line Ava & Viv and that was just released in February.

4)Keep your eyes and ears open.

Real shoppers know that Ebay is not the end all be all. Google, google, google.....search for small cities with small Targets, you may have to do a road trip. I've seen people do it.

3 Drugstore Mascaras, 3 Quick Reviews! Wet N Wild, Covergirl and L'Oreal......

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Hey Everyone!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've bought three drugstore mascaras and I need to talk about them.:)

Let's get started!

Wet N' Wild Mega Plump Double Menace Mascara- This mascara was $3.99 at Dollar General. It has two brushes, one for the top lashes and one for the bottom. I didn't like the brushes on either end. They didn't pick up my lashes good for neither volume or length. The formula was very black and dark which I like but too thin. It barely looked like I had on mascara. Skip this one.

Covergirl Flamed Out- I actually got this mascara, brand new, still sealed in the package at Goodwill for a $1. Number one, it's water resistant which I don't what this means. Is it waterproof? Confused. This mascara didn't work will with my lashes either. It has a spoolie type brush and my lashes do not care for that kind of brush. Skip this one.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza- I LOVE Voluminous Butterfly, so I knew I would be all into Intenza. This was $9.87 at Walmart. A cool $10 mascara. Took me a month to figure out how the brush is suppose to lay and pull on the lashes. The brush has a flat side with short bristles and long edges with short bristles. I was most mad about Intenza because I spent $10 on it and didn't know how to work it. Once I got the hang of it, I realize my lashes are not here for voluminizing mascaras. They have officially quit the volume business. I will say, I still dig the L'oreal mascara formula that seems to be the same across the board, just different brushes.

Govern yourselves accordingly. Think of your lashes before you think of yourself!!!

Tell me, I'm ready to dip back in the high game of mascara. What's your favorite high end mascara??
