~Swatches + Review~ Lorac GloGetter Palette.....

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Hey Everyone!!

The Lorac GloGetter Palette ( exclusively at Ulta) was the first piece of Lorac I've ever owned. I have heard great things about the brand and this palette was so affordable at $20, it was hard to pass up!! I heard on the blogsphere how it was sold out in some Ultas but my Ulta had at least, 8 of these babies. *shrugs*

My Instagram photo of GloGetter....

The palette is all eye shadows with some neutrals and brights in the mix. The shadows are all shimmers as well...
 Here are the swatches....
Here is a look a did with the first three shades. I'm drawn towards neutrals, of course.
The consistency is sheer with a tad bit of build-ability, depending on your brush skills.
Overall....

The Lorac GloGetter palette just didn't do it for me. Its beautiful in the palette but I was struggling with the color payoff. Are all Lorac palettes like this?

I did like the the blues and the purple in the palette but the color payoff on these shades were sheer as well. I don't see a use for the palette in my collection, so its going back.

~Get The Look!~ Kerry Washington's Met Ball 2013 Makeup.....

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

Hey Everyone!!!

I was too excited to find out that the legendary Ms. Kerry Washington wore tarte cosmetics last night at the 2013 Met Ball! Her look was created by celebrity makeup artist Carola Gonzales at The Magnet Agency for tarte.  Five coats of lights, camera, lashes mascara, Amazonian clay waterproof liner, Glamazon pure performance lipstick and Amazonian clay blush were among some my FAVORITE tarte products used on her beat! Check out the deets!:

Review: Almay Pure Blends Eye Shadow and Lip Gloss....

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

I picked up all the Almay Pure Blends Eye Shadows and one Almay Pure Blends Lip Gloss during my 1st CVS Clearance run.( btw, I went back today to see if the Maybelline 50% stuff had been marked down some more...nada)

The eye shadow colors: Cocoa, Steel, Lavender, Sage, and Oatmeal and the lip gloss is Nude.

I'll admit, I ignored these when they first came out thinking they were not brown girl friendly...

Sometime doubt will bite you in the ass...lol
I love them:) Seriously, they are soft textured and beautiful on my skin. They blend well and give just enough color for a natural look...

In today's look, I'm wearing Sage on the lid, Cocoa in the crease, and oatmeal blended from the crease up to the brow...

***Excuse the lip gloss on my teeth. I didn't even see it til I downloaded the photos!***

The lip gloss, however, was not as exciting. The initial application was oily, but I like it has no taste and practically no smell. The nude is really pretty paired up with my faithful MAC Cork liner.

If your CVS has any Almay Pure Blends eye shadows left ( at 75%) grab them up.:)
