Glam Grub: Warmth For Your Soul in a Cup...Oregon Chai Tea Latte

Wednesday, December 01, 2010

I have the cough from hell. Its in my chest. I blame the weather known as "Southern Cold Weather". If you live or lived here you know what I'm speaking of. Its the kind of weather that will make you sick looking at it from a window. lol!

I'm trying to see if the cough will go "away" **looks around nervously** but  in the meanwhile I've been sipping on soups and teas to make my throat feel better. Oregon Chai Tea Latte Concentrate is in the line up of soothing, spicy tea that feels good going down and tastes yummy!

"This is where it all started. Where creation evolved to a higher plane. Where the sweet and spicy blend of black tea, honey, vanilla bean and spices brought perfection to your world. Experience nirvana after every cup - morning, noon or night."
"An Original Chai Tea Latte has approximately 30-35 mg of caffeine per serving (same as a lightly brewed cup of black tea)."

Ingredients

Water, organic* evaporated cane juice, honey, organic* spices, organic* black tea, ginger, organic* vanilla, organic* natural flavors and citric acid. (*Organically grown and processed in accordance with the California Organic Food Act of 1990).

Review:

Pros:
-sweet but not too sweet and that can be changed with a bit of water diluted in.
-easily crafted. I was able to make my chai tea my own. I used regular Coffee Mate Creamer, then a bit of  2% milk and 1/2 cup of Chai Tea Concentrate and popped it in the microwave. You can mix and match it with creamers, milk to make it taste like your own.
-a little goes a long way. I've been drinking out the same carton what seems like forever and still haven't ran out!

Cons:
- Maybe to sweet for some
-Maybe be a bit to spicy tea for some
-I didn't like it cold. But I don't like to drink milk like in a glass cold. That's what it tasted like. I like it warm. Its better warm.

Consensus:
-Its super yummy but you have to craft it to your taste. Took me a while to figure it out.

Cyber Monday Giveaway with Carmex!!!: Two Hours Only!!! 8pm-11pm.... ***CLOSED***

The winner is.....

Kim!!!!

I'm slowly growing into a lip balm lover. I can't believe it! The girl that once thought that wearing any lip balm made her lips feel greasy is enjoying the benefits that a great lip balm can do for the lips!!

I got the chance to try out Carmex Moisture Plus Sheer Pink and Sheer Peach Tint Lip Balms. In all honesty, I have never used Carmex at all, which I had equated to the bare faced co-eds I attended college with. Seemed like everyone had a little jar but me. lol! I was and still am a full lip gloss, lipstick girl. So, when these tinted balms landed in my mailbox I was excited to go on another challenge to try something new. Kinda like me and the Big Mac, which I've never tasted in my life.

My favorite out of the two lip balms is the Sheer Pink, which gives a great pink lip on pigmented or dark lips like mine. I was pleasantly surprised. The peach blends into my lips not giving much color.

The formula is smooth and non-greasy but I didn't feel like it did any long term moisturizing. Once it was gone off my lips, it was gone!! Re-application was necessary.

Now I want give you a shot to try Carmex Moisture Plus Sheer Pink and Sheer Peach, both for free through a giveaway!!!

Kinkabands by Katrina Review and Giveaway!!! *CLOSED*

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

One of my friends and fellow Winthrop University alumni is creating fabulousness and beauty for the natural hair masses!

Kinkabands by Katrina are custom and creative hair bands by Katrina Hooks-Wiggins. I was too excited to try these bands out on my hair since alot of hair accessories like flowers and headbands make me look too young. I'm always on the look out for grown and sexy hair adornments.

In these photos, I'm rocking the Black Tiger Kinkaband....feels comfortable on my head. I have alot of hair plus a big head so I don't want headbands to be too tight. This one fits perfectly...
And they are soooocute....I didnt want to take it off. Really:) !!! LOL!

This one is the Mizz Panky Black Kinkaband. I love this one with a puff or an updo....
Overall: beautiful hair accessories for a great price....only $10 a piece. You can wear them with natural, locked, relaxed hair, any kind of hair as long as you want to look good!

Kinkabands by Katrina are sold on her site, 33 Fingers Salon in Charlotte NC, or you can contact Katrina via email at kinkabands@yahoo.com
