Hanging in there...

Friday, December 14, 2007

Hey folks!

I'm so glad to be in the blogging spirit! Of course, you know my sad ass story(Computer is @ Momma's and I won't pay for Internet @ my house...), so I try to get on here as much as I can. If I don't, I won't know what's going on in the world. Can't depend on Union and Spartanburg to keep me updated... So Here's what's poppin':
-Every time I look at my Tarte We Wish You Wealth Palette, I smile:)!!!!I love it so much. Thanks Candace!!!
-My car is fixed so that's buying me some time til' I get my income tax. It's not leaking anything and seems to be riding well. I'm broke but I'm riding. You can't do anything down here in the country without a car. Including getting to work and the occasional drive to the 'burg( if you don't work there, already)
-Let me tell ya'll something. Don't ever underestimate people who work in grocery stores/supermarket. This has been one the hardest jobs. But I don't have a bad day. Well, except when I came to work yesterday and the DSD printer was broke. That's screwed me up all morning.
-I'm seriously addicted to McDonald's Hazelnut Ice Coffee and McDonald's Cinnamelts. I get the same order every morning. It's like 4.00 a day, 5 days a week. And I complain about being broke. ha!
-It seems that since I turned 30, all of the cuties that I meet are married. Or separated from the wife. Or complain about paying child support( you know I don't play that). Or just ain't about sh*t. And none of them believe that I'm 30. Now when I was 29, it was believable.
-I miss my friends. My real friends. They know who they are.:)
-I need a vacation.
-I keep missing all of my TV shows. The Game,Keyshia Cole, even I Love NY. I fall asleep about 8:30 EVERY night. I'm seriously busted when I get home.
-I will give ya'll My Christmas wishlist this weekend....
-So far, for Christmas, I got a Old Navy Gift Card and and TV stand for my big ass TV.And I haven't put it together and the TV is still on the floor. My kids thinks it a toy and sit there little cars on it. Maybe if I didn't go to sleep at 8:30pm I could get somethings done!!!
Love yall!!
Off to pick up the bams...:)

***Update***Furious!!!

Sunday, December 09, 2007

So the car did finally break down, again...right in the parking lot of the mechanic. :)
So I go to Enterprise ( @ 5:30 Friday night) and all they have is a 2008 Chevy Silverado.
And I've been driving it all weekend long.:) And getting the strangest looks for people, too.
I'm going to have to get a new car. This week. Pray for me and my credit. lol!

Furious!!!!!!!

Friday, December 07, 2007

I'm so furious.....at my freaking CAR!!!

I'm so sick of it...it makes me cry....ughhh!!!

So about a month ago the car broke down on 176 going to Spartnaburg. I had it towed to the Toyota Dealership. Well, my mom convinced me take to a mechanic she goes to "sometimes". It took them a week to fix it and when I got it back it wasn't running as good( cranking up hard, burning through gas)

*The Devil is a busy ass character...he just doesn't want me to happy..*

Back to the story. So the car is leaking something. I think its oil. So I check my oil. It's low. So every week, I put two quarts of oil in the car and send a prayer up to God to get me back and forth to work, cuz I can't afford a new car on what I'm making. So, again, my mother has a idea, to get a oil change. So I go for an oil change and they say,"Your car is leaking transmission fluid, I would have it towed your mechanic..." Then they ask me what got done on the car. My dumb ass doesn't know because I let my mother handle it. So now I'm at my mother's fuming, waiting for her because she ain't answering her cell...

I feel like breaking down.

Love ya'll

Merry Christmas to me!...part 1

Saturday, December 01, 2007

I learned this from my Momma. Buy yourself something for Christmas. I'm usually single anyway around Christmas/New Year's, so waiting on a Christmas gift from someone is crazy. My mom will pick out something at the last minute. But I don't really want her to. I tell her to buy for the kids.

So I ordered these two mark. gift sets: mark. jewel Gift Set and mark.self sanctuary body butters gift set. I like how the jewel smells and I've been wanting to use the body butter for a minute.

Plus, when you order you get a 1-year subscription to Glamour magazine with orders over $20. Very cool.:0

"Snore"....

Hey people...Sorry I've been missing. I've been at the Le Lion Plantation all week. I'm busted. I did how ever stop into the Union St. CVS in the 'burg for a pick me up. I mean, where is the all of the Holiday color stories? I haven't even seen one good tacky one from Wet N'Wild. I picked up the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Gel and the HIP Cream Liner in Black.
Hence...my sleepiness. Both products, boring and not worth buying....
First, that overrated and over hyped body gel is the same body gel from J&J with the scent of cocoa butter. I could have bought the Equate brand and mixed it with Queen Helene Cocoa Butter for a better mixture.
Second, the cream liner isn't that bad. But Loreal...please stop putting those cheap ass brushes in all of the HIP stuff and marking up the price. Because the brush ain't worth a d*mn and 11.99 is outrageous. MAC cream liner is probably close that same price...without the worthless brush.
*Yawn*
Whew! Great Beauty beyotchin' session for me. I needed that!

"Not just Metropolian but Cosmopolitan..."

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

This morning I went to see Senator Hillary Clinton speak in the 'Burg at the Marriott. I just found out about yesterday in the Herald. But it was truly great...I'm totally sold!!

I got a real close seat. The program started at 9:30 and I was there at like 8:15, after a stop at Starbucks on Pine Street, of course:) That cutie of a police officer in the pic kept asking me for some of my breakfast!

Do I look political? No, I look like my mother in that pic sans eyeglasses.I got politics in my system though. I was Poli Sci minor at the WU and served on the WU SGA for three years as a senator and parliamentarian. I'm excited about the '08 elections...
A little bitty supporter! I sent the kids off to preschool. They would have showed out, seriously!
Senator Clinton. She was phenomenal and super genuine...
I got this close and got nervous. I said, "Hi, Hillary!!".She said,"Hello, young lady...Thanks for coming out..." People were getting her autograph and taking photos with her. I still stood there frozen...How cute.

One of the pastors that introduced her called her, "Not just metropolitan but Cosmopolitan..." She let out a big hearty laugh. :)

Check out the article already up on the www.goupstate.com on the event!

Thanksgiving Fashion Meme...

Thursday, November 22, 2007

I found this random Meme on the web....

What has been your biggest fashion indulgence?

Hard one...very hard one. My indulgences change with the wind. Right now its earrings and headbands. This N That, the one dollar accessory store in the 'Burg on Pine Street, gets me every single time for $20. Next pay period, it might be shoes and purses. But rarely clothes because I'm an interesting fit. 5'0, about 180 lbs, seriously curvy.

What is your signature scent?

I don't have one. But I always go to Aquolina Pink Sugar when ever I'm in a bind on what to wear. It's me. I guess that's a signature!!!!

What was your biggest fashion mistake?

I think my worse dressing period was after I had my children and I had lost about 25 lbs while pregnant and then gained like 40 lbs in a matter of months after they were born. So I was trying to squeeze my ass in stuff I wore before I had kids, most of it baby tees and low rise jeans. I looked a mess. But then I went through this period where I wanted this certain "person" to notice me, so I tried dressing to catch his attention, like a hoochie and didn't work. I'll NEVA do that again!!!! No, sir, never dress for a man AGAIN. After I came out of that, I looked like a nun, I went through a serious depression. But it's interesting...now I like the way I look, chic and casual, just me and comfortable:)

What item(s) do you never travel without?

I travel every day to work about 30mins so...I need my cellphone, handbag, money. But real traveling...I already have my toiletry bag pre-packed and ready. D.Shannan taught me that. And travel candles.

What was the last film you saw?

At the movies? Why Did I Get Married? On TV? Poetic Justice on one of the those HBOs.I had forget what it was about.

What beauty products do you swear by?

No particular brand because it could change tomorrow. But I must have:

Mascara

eyebrow pencil

lip gloss

What is on your iPod?

I don't have one. I have a Creative Nano. I got alot of Maysa and Incognito on it. Some old Mary J,Tamia,Dreamgirls Soundtrack,T.I.... alot of stuff

What was the last item of clothing you bought?

Oh...I went to the Hillcrest Goodwill and racked up. I got Aeropostale l/s tees, Gap sweater, Ann Taylor cardigan, some "work" pants....whole lot of stuff.

Where do you buy your lingerie?

What bras and panties? Places like Cato and It's Fashion where they sell big girl underwear at a reasonable price.

Which shop(s) couldn't you live without?

Target,Starbucks...:) but I do.

Rural Glamour's Good Eats News...

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

After doing some recent flipping through Food & Wine magazine. I found out that instead of just another white wine with the Thanksgiving turkey, Rose' wine is a good option as well. I also some came across a great idea in the mag. It's called eWine Match:

1) Plan your meal.

2) Enter 6 and your Food Choice and text it to 411511 on your cell phone.

3)You'll receive a text message with the perfect wine match!

How cool...they are also in the process of setting up a website at http://www.ewinematch.com/

I have always wanted a Le Creuset pot. My mother, the ultimate bargain finder, found a red one at the Salvation Army with the top included. How lucky!!! I was reading through a cookbook the other day and found out that these pots and the American part of the company are located right here in South Carolina, in a town called, Early Branch.

And I don't know where that is even located.:) ( They got a 803 area code so it must be in the "Low Part" of the state.)

Good Eats everyone!

Thanksgiving Eats...

I won't be making Thanksgiving dinner at my house. I will going over to my mother, Grandma' house to eat. It doesn't make any sense to cook nothing because I'm sure the boys and I will get leftovers galore. She cooks like that. Plus she is not going to let me help. The kitchen is all hers. Any body else have a Grandma or Mama like that? lol!

So, I will be making breakfast for the midgets and me. They have already requested pancakes and turkey bacon. I will be having that too:) plus G.Garvin's Lobster Avocado & Brie Omelet. I've only made an omelet like twice. But I can can make pretty good eggs so I'll have some pictures for ya...

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!!!

Sunday Best? Part II

Monday, November 19, 2007

I've been watching this religiously.lol!! I like the top four they got and they are all my favorites but in order I'll list my favorites and why....
4) Crystal- Not doubt she can "sang". But I would love to see her come softer on a song and more melodic... She got the chops but can she but versatile?
3) Jermaine- He is so fly and his riffs are serious but he's got really own every song he sings to win.
2) Emily- Emily, Miss Emily. Touches my spirit every time. I would buy her album in a second. I just love her voice and her presence is just golden.
1) Shari- #1 pick from day one. She has a voice that takes every song and makes her own. Just imagine what she could do for songs written just for her?
If you watch...Who's your winner? Let me know!!

"L"ike Eww...

Hey cousins!
I received a sample of this in the mail on Friday and decided to put it on after a nice hot bath....
It stinks...I don't like it AT ALL.
It smelled like a sour Glow by JLO and it smells sour to me. I was not impressed.
And you know there is probably a "A", "M", and "B" in the works.
Who liked it and Who didn't? Let me know!

Happy Birthday Mu Xi!!!

My Sephora Christmas Wishlist...

Thursday, November 15, 2007

Can you believe that I, Jamie, have not been in a Sephora Store since February?
Can you believe I only found two things in that entire Christmas catalog I wanted?
I made a sad little gift registry for both pieces...so if *anyone*( echoes......) wants to purchase them for me...why go ahead!!! Just kidding...:)

Curves and Bumps...

Excuse the extra country photo of the photo of me in the Wednesday Union Daily Times. As you can see I was modeling Xtra Luv, a new plus-size line featured at Almost Pink. I'll be in Wednesday and Friday's paper. My Momma read the whole paper and didn't even realize I was in there. Why am I not surprised? Anyways, I had fun doing it, this was like my third picture out of the bunch.... and the tag is showing from the shrug and I had on my "emergency" wig because I had taken my curly hair out the night before to put my curly hair back in the next day. I wanted "Smile with my eyes" but photographer said I would look better to smile with my teeth...and that's my "pose"...I came up with that. Listen to me wishing I was 5'9 and 20 years old and on ANTM!!!

R.I.P Soror Dr. Donda West

Monday, November 12, 2007

I'm so completely sad over this. Kanye West, as you probably heard by now, lost his mother Dr. Donda West on Saturday. No matter how she died, I feel his pain and pray for Ye' and his family. She was also member of my organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, initiated into the Alpha Eta Chapter.

Rest In Peace My "Ivy Beyond The Wall"

My Daddy's Birthday. He would have been 57 years old. I had the perfect gift:Go see American Gangster and buy him the BET American Gangster DVD set and then watch him fuss with my uncles. He was a serious movie buff. I got it honest. I love you Daddy, I miss you so much. I wish you were here...because I can't get the heat to come on at the house. I don't know what's wrong with the thermostat.:) And Momma is driving me crazy and I need a hug.:)

Review: Bare Escentuals Mineral Makeup...

Ok I'll keep short a sweet on the Bare Escentuals Mineral foundation. I can't read long reviews on products...

-I paid $60 for the whole kit at Divas on Main in the 'Burg. They have a whole back room of the line...

-My kit has a Dark and Deep Color in it along with this psuedo-moisturizer( because it don't moisturize, so used something else then this, but a good lotion for oily skin) three brushes and this translucent powder.

-The brushes SHED LIKE CRAZY to be always"buffing" your face with them.

-It took me about three tries to mix the Deep and Dark colors to get something close to my skin color. It still looks a little ashen.

-I love that kabuki brush. But it sheds too.

-The "warmth" powder. A waste. WnW got better bronzers.

-The translucent powder( whatever its called)...NYC loose translucent powder for cheaper. But I like it.

Overall...Not a waste of money or time but not totally for me. But I haven't given up and I'm working it out each day.

Smooches!

Last...Weekend Cooking...:)

I'm pretty blessed. My children are not picky eaters. They love veggies and will basically eat whatever I cook. Kel loves condiments, Honey Mustard and Hot Sauce! But Spencer doesn't like any condiments. That's as picky as it gets. I make this little side for us some times when I'm short on time and we are all tired and don't feel like waiting on a big meal. It's called a Caribbean Quicky, and the recipe is found in Culinarytherapy Cookbook by Beverly West. All it is a box of egg noodles cooked, mixed with shredded sharp cheddar cheese(a whole bag,1lb), a stick of butter or margarine, juice of two limes, salt and pepper, and dry red pepper flakes. Voila! Quick mac and cheese with a zip.
In other last weekend cooking news, I scooped these McCormick Grinders up at Big Lots for 1.40 a piece. A great kitchen to me is full of the essentials and above. I love having all the spices I need before I cook. One of these is a roasted sea salt. I've been putting it on everything:)

Reality Intern...

Friday, November 02, 2007

I can't even believe I'm watching College Hill Interns on BET. I've been out of school for eight years this December. But I think college life is the best 4, 5,6, years of your life. Seriously, I DID college. I could probably write a flashback blog on life:WU 1995-1999. It was insanity. But, do watch CH Interns for that young cutie name Kasheef. And he is an ole' nasty Nupe...I love it!!

Plus intern Ivy( who's a Ivy, an AKA, how cute!) has a very cute blog on all the happenings on the show.

I was peeping through my momma's Spartanburg Herald newspaper when I came across a very fly article on 'Burg fashion by Jessica DeVault, one the Herald staffers.

Shall I exhale? Someone who love pop culture and fashion in the 'Burg? Love's it! Check out her blog and her webisodes!

Pound Cake...

Today, one of the Coca-Cola vendors that came in the store called me a "Sweet Li'l Pound Cake".

I said..."Wow, I've never been called a pound cake...Thanks!" He was cute and also VERY married. Next!

Now my Co-worker Meka calls me "Pound Cake". I like it:)

Nothing serious this weekend. Chil'ren and I's will be chillin' and stuff. I'm going wear them out. I'm also cooking some stuff. Hope have some new recipes for ya'll!

Have a splendid weekend!!

ps....I can make a Pound Cake too...but my oven is psycho...seriously. That's another post.

It's no Ruby Tuesday's Salad Bar...

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

I went to Jason's Deli for lunch today. The one in the 'Burg is ALWAYS super packed. I mean, damn, does anyone bring there lunch to work in the 'Burg...other than my momma? If you have been to Jason's Deli, it's all about the sandwiches. I usually get the Club Royale and Sweet Tea. But decided to try their salad bar...

Not good...Not good.

Not enough veggies on there for me and the dressings were seriously watery. But, I dig that Potato Salad and Ice Cream Machine alot. Reminded me of the Winthrop University Thomson Hall Cafe. Next Time...I'll stick to my Club Royale.

Any suggestions on what else is good at Jason's?( ck out the website...they got a blog.)

From Edkerd to Rite Aid: Sale Haulage!

Friday, October 26, 2007

I'm protective about a drugstore.Like this whole Edkerds now Rite-Aid. We had Rite-Aids down here before and they didn't do no good. I remember one in Rock Hill that I used drive across town to get to. It's was all gated up with major cameras like somebody was going to jack it. But I went in one the other anyway...Edkerd, I mean Rite-Aid always has the up-to-date makeup goodies. I walked right into a clearance cart that had all this Booth's yumminess on it. I like Booth's Pomegranate Body Wash. So I scooped this products up all under 3.00. I already love and love the Fruit Enzyme Balance Toner. So hop by there and hunt down the clearance cart. I think that's popping off because of the change in companies and maybe they are not carrying certain products...

Does any remember Revco? lol!

The Good ,The Bad and The Mascara...

Hey cousins!! It's been the LONGEST WEEK OF MY LIFE...at work of course. I've been between three stores courtesy of"Le Lion". But getting paid in the process. I'm moving up like the Jeffersons' all the way to Salisbury NC! I popped in CVS to get the Bams their prerequisite Pull-ups and picked up Cover Girl Lash Exact. I had read a confusing( I didn't know if they were saying it was good or bad) review of it in Allure and decided to give it a try. Shoot...I needed mascara anyway.

The Good: It got that rubber brush that I love. And it a pretty shade of orange. Like a Creamsicle! Yum!

The Bad:It flakes, the brush is too big, the handle to long and the tube too big.

The Mascara: Stick with Lash Exact, Cover Girl.

Caution...

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

I got a pimple. Like a serious under my eye and its got looking like it want to show up to! I'm always surprised when I break out because I'm so tedious with my skin but I'm struggling on this one ya'll. I never have acne medication either. Because I never expect them. So I go a digging away in my little skin care box( It's little now compared to the past...) and found mark. Spots Away AM-PM Blemish Neutralizer. I dabbed the green tip on, let it dry and lightly patted the color around and on the pimple. It was a dream!! The camouflaging, of course. The green meds tip helps with downplaying the redness and color tip gives a little coverage. Now, I'm off to the drugstore to find some nighttime relief!

Jamie

If you notice that I've blogged about any new fabulous and expensive makeup products, that's because I have none. Plus, I can't write about things I don't own, haven't used, can't buy, don't want to buy.But I will write many, many wishlists.:)When I unpacked my winter and fall scents and lotions about a month ago, it was alot of half empty bottles and stuff I'll never used again. Just like my clothes, It something I gots to work on. I've been collecting drugstore and BBW coupons preparing for the "Big Haul"...whenever that will be...grrr!

Enough of my broke bitchin...:(

I found in the recent financially strapped times that when I have a perfume and no layering lotion to match, either I use a lotion with similar scents or just use Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion. I have several big bottles of it due to three years ago having two babies at the same time. Plus, the midgets love lotion and baby powder. And their hair brushed. And their clothes pressed. Pretty Boys.:) I think their dad and the Blue People Nation just lost two.lol! Anyway J&J Baby Lotion keeps the skin soft and it smells good under most fragrances I use.

Weekend Cooking III...

I swear on everything I love,I've cooked more this weekend than any week before. I was trying to be "cost effective" and cook at home. Plus I had recipes to try and let ya'll in on.:) This is pic of a Parmesan Risotto I made Saturday night. I've never had risotto but all the cooking shows, magazines and cookbooks make it look to so yummy. So, I picked a simple recipe out of my G.Garvin cookbook. As always, if ya'll want me to list the recipe, I will.:) It was good all by its self with a little salad on the side. My boys ate some too, with some Tyson Chicken Nuggets I popped in the oven for them. Bubba said, "Mommy, this good." I said " Bubba, Mommy, this IS good." lol! G.Garvin's recipe requires to no white wine like most risotto recipes to so I had to add about two extra cups of broth/stock.
After church, I made my "Sunday Supper", Bow Tie Pasta and Chicken from G.Garvin's cookbook. It was so-so. It has asparagus, one of the few veggies I don't like. Plus the recipe called for tomato sauce and chopped tomatoes. Why not the store bought spaghetti sauce of your liking? Because it would have tasted alot better. I had to put my spin on it and put 1tbsp of sugar in it. That saved that situation. The parmesan cheese didn't add much flavor like normally does. I probably make this again, tweaked to my liking. I did like the use of bowtie(farfalle) and chicken.
This morning I made Homemade Pancakes for the boys. I got this recipe out of a Food Everyday Magazine. Can you believe I own baking powder? How many chicks in their 20s and 30s own baking powder? But the recipe was actually a recipe for waffles for a waffle iron. Now I don't own one of those... anymore. I had an ex buy one about four years ago and when we broke up, I threw it away...:).

Fashion Depression...

On Friday night decided to go through my fall/winter clothes and get the summer ones packed up. After about only 30 minutes, I found myself staring at a sad pile of l/s shirts, those four pair of jeans, two Target cardis, a pair of ON blk pants and few other worthless items. Is this all I got? Who was I last winter/fall that I have nothing to wear? The funk slowly fell over me. I went laid down on the couch and watch TV but that didn't work. Two chicks were on What Not To Wear whining on how to spend $10,000( $5000 a piece) on clothes and shoes.

"Bitches"....I thought.

So I just went to sleep. I got nothing to wear. Now, here's the thing:

1) I wear a uniform to work, so five days out the week I don't have to go outfit hunting.

2)On the other two days( Saturday and Sunday) one I'm cleaning most of the day and a little errand running and the other I'm dressed up. Thank God for my mother's b'day present to me.

3) I can wear everything in that little pile. Because I have neither gain nor lost any significant weight in about two years. Same with my summer clothes, I could wear everything from the last summer.

So do I need to go out and buy some new clothes to fill up the gaping holes in my closets? And with what money? And where? And for what?

As mothers/single/married/professional/women we always say,"Well, I don't go out alot and I got the kids to think about and I got the house and stuff to think about...And..."

What happen to the Jamie who was "diva fabulous" and had a closet full of things and her girlfriends/sorors/neighbors/enemies would want to come over to raid her closet(s) of things of vintage and new, designer and low-retail and wonder how she puts all together? Next...I'm waiting on my "makeup" depression. I just put on a Becca l/g that's about four years old.:(

Rural Glamour Restaurant Review:Bangkok Thai Cuisine.

Friday, October 19, 2007

Last Friday I went to see Why Did I Get Married. I arrived in the 'Burg about an hour early so I could grab a bit. Initially I was going to Panera Bread for a Grilled Chicken Salad but changed my mind and decided to try something new...Bangkok Thai Cuisine. I had Crab Rangoon and Pad Thai with Chicken. The Crab Rangoon was good, after it cooled. They gave it to me searing hot and straight out the grease! Then I got my Pad Thai. The only problem I had with it was it had more chicken than noodles. I ate the noodles up and had a full plate of chicken left. But the atmosphere and service was great. It was pretty quiet and low key, a perfect creep spot if you are from the 'Burg!

Will she go back? Yes

Traveling Woman

Thursday, October 18, 2007

In about two weeks...I'm actually going somewhere outside of Union and Spartanburg Counties.

To Rock Hill...To the WU for a reunion.

The reunion is the 100 women who went in October 1997 to the Million Woman March. Just 100 of us on two charter buses up there and back. I saw one of my best friends, my Aunt Bonnie in the mist of thousands of women. She had came down from NY and this was before people had mad cell phones and texting and stuff. I looked over and there she was. They want us to wear all black@ the program...new outfit crisis!!!!

I'm excited but then I don't know. I'm exhausted and hopefully I can get off early that day to get over there in time. And I don't have nowhere to stay! My usual, E-dub, is now shacking and is renting out her house. (If you are reading this, E, I'm going to punch in the face when I see u...Love you!) Plus, I didn't want to do a whole weekend and I want to come home Saturday. But I need to see my homegirl Gab and hit couple place( Sephora, Southpark Mall, etc.)

What shall I do? Go or stay at the house.

Also, I'll post the recipe for the Apple Chicken and I had some restaurant reviews from the Spartanburg area. Fun stuff cousins!!

Peace!

Sunday Best?

Monday, October 15, 2007

Okay...is anyone watching that show on BET called Sunday Best, a reality show to pick the next gospel superstar? I caught a rerun of it last night and before I watched it I was skeptical. I mean how do you judge someone singing the praises of the Lord even if they are out of key? Anyways...I found it soooo interesting....

-Kirk Franklin knows he "shawt"! But that's my boy! He was sharp, though.

-Those MaryMary's are like two black Simon Cowells. They are not playing.

-Tina of MaryMarys had on some bad earrings and a hat!

-Her sister...Now don't tell some body not to cover up when you got on a vest and button-up...

-The contestants...its going to be hard to pick a winner, especially that one that sung that Clark Sisters song...Jesus!!

-That dress above,I wore it to church this past Sunday. It one of the Grandma's birthday gifts.

-I guess I'll watch it through...Is BET trying to redeem itself for something?

-Go Bebe, Go Bebe!!

Digging in the crates...

Sunday, October 14, 2007

I'll admit...I have a love/hate with this new wearing lipstick trend. I love it because it will freshen up the Fall looks, making things more glamorous. But I have a time finding the color I like. So, I decided to go through the "crates", my own makeup collection to see what lipsticks I already had before I got out and spend $ on some more. Guess what, I found a whole lotta colors including all of my L'Oreal Star Secrets Lip Colours.

All three of these colors are great basic colors for anything you are wearing as it gets chilly. And to think, I couldn't stand Eva's Caramel OR Noemie's Plum when they first came out. Now thangs have changed!!

Weekend Cooking II...

I love cooking my own Sunday Dinner. The reason I say this is that my mom cooks every Sunday, starting on Saturday so when she comes from church, its done and ready. But I like to come from church and start for scratch. This Sunday, I choose G.Garvin, with his sexy ass:), Apple Brandy Chicken. It was super simple, as he would say" and was so good. The only I didn't do was shallots. He puts shallots in everything!
I paired it up with his Vegetable Fried Rice. I've made this so many times as a main dish, its great. I used Tamari soy sauce instead of regular soy sauce, its much richer to me and powdered ginger instead of ginger root( I'm just too lazy for all that chopping). I also used I little sesame oil as a drizzle on top.
Here's that sexy thang's book, chocked full fabulous recipes. I make my girlfriend Jenn's favorite Jalapeno Crab Dip from it and he's got some Bourbon Chicken wings that ain't no joke.
