~FOTD~ Wet N' Wild ColorIcon Baked Eyeshadow in Baked Not Fried....

Monday, November 21, 2011

This weekend, I play with my new Wet N' Wild Baked palettes. First up is Baked Not Fried ( silly name..smh). Its fully of neutral and bronzy browns with pretty intense shimmer. Its not glittery which I was happy about...medium pigmentation...went on really nice with a flat shader brush dry. I find that my synthetic brushes work better with baked shadows. Let me know what kind of brushes you use for baked shadows!:)

I used four of the six shades in the palette. Don't ask me how I put it on...*shrugs*

Love it so far!! Hope it doesn't get lost in the abyss of makeup known as my collection. lol!

Do you own Baked Not Fried?...Let me know what you think of it!

~Real Spotted~L'Oreal LE Holiday Polish, Kiss Nail Dress and Broadway Nails imPress Nails....

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Hi Everyone!!

While on another hunt for Wet N' Wild....this time the Holiday LE Glitter Polish collection...I spotted some new nail goodies from L'Oreal, Kiss and Broadway...Check it out!!!!

Kiss Nails has an answer to Sally Hansen Salon Effects in  Nail Dress. They are the nail polish sheets but these have rhinestones and glitter. The one called BabyDoll was extra cute but there was no price on the display or under the display. I took it as a sign...to not buy it. lol!
Then I spotted some Broadway Press On Nails called imPress with Nicole Schrezinger's face on the display. Everyone's on there hussle these days. The nails looks tiny, as if they were for kids or something.... no price on this display EITHER.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Polish has a Holiday collection.....

The colors looked a bit "done" for my taste...I can guarantee you, there's a dupe for each color in my own stash...so no buys here...

I did  find the Wet N' Wild Holiday Glitters ( I got Believe Me Its Real, 24 Carats, and Diamond In The Rough)....four of the colors were SOLD OUT...and I was in a small city...so ya'll better get in where you fit in if you are looking for those polishes or anything WnW Holiday...its going fast!!

Anyone seen any of these displays at your local drugstores???? Let me know!!

~Fall Skin Care Review~ Lumene Sensitive Skin Cleansing Wipes & Daily Moisture Cream....

Saturday, November 19, 2011

I know I don't follow all the beauty rules...including that little one "Don't go to bed with makeup on." Yikes!!! I will do that in a minute, so I'm always in search of a great makeup wipe. One that doesn't smell strong and remove most of the makeup on my face.

Lumene Sensitive Skin Cleansing Wipes are unscented and work like Windex to glass...they clean the makeup right off!!! My skin wasn't irritated or dry after using one. I keep the wipes in my room especially now when its cold and I don't want to come off under the covers. Plus, I'm so forgetful, that I will take a shower or bath, brush my teeth and forget to wash my face. Lumene Cleansing Wipes saves the night! The only con about them is that there are only 25 in the pack...I need a 65 pack! lol

I also got to try Lumene Sensitive Skin Daily Moisture Cream. The "Cream" part initially turned me off because I can't wear a cream during the day in any season. This formula is light though, almost a whipped lotion consistency. It didn't leave my face or my makeup extra oily and worked well with my primer. Its unscented too.

Consensus:

I've found over the years that alot of skin products marked "sensitive" skin work well with my "oily" skin. Maybe because oily and acne prone skin IS sensitive. Check out this products at your nearest CVS.:))

I'm a total Lumene fan!!! Have you tried anything Lumene? What do you like by the brand? Let me know!

I received a free product (or products) for review purposes. I did not receive any form of compensation from the company. All opinions are my own and not influenced in anyway. My reviews are my personal and honest opinions

~Review~ Travalo Refillable Perfume Atomizer....

I saw a review of the Travalo on You Tube a couple months ago and didn't give it much thought. But, yesterday I spotted it in a CVS that I don't frequent ( because the CS is HORRIBLE) and I had to pick it up. I bought it because I have perfume that I LOVE but it won't pump the scent out unless I rig it with a safety pin... This Travalo cost $9.99 and it carries 65 sprays.
It fits in the palm of my hand (as you can see)....The ones in CVS are different from the ones on their website and on Amazon but are the same price...
My beloved Prada Eau De Perfum that was gifted to me back in 2005.  I love to wear this with a Fig scented body lotion ( Essence of Beauty makes one). Its the perfect winter fragrance.
However, the scent wont come out...its gets clogged for some reason and I have to stick a safety pin into to unclog it...

So, in order to use it....I stuck a safety pin in it....

Then I put the Travalo's bottom end on the the white tube and pumped the Travalo til it was full.....

Voila!! I got my beloved Prada scent in a container I can use!! 65 pumps to be exact! And I can refill it over and over again...I think that's worth the $10.

Anyone own a Travalo? You probably use it to travel with right? lol!!! Let me know!

~My 2nd Nappiversary Week~ What I'm Using NOW Review....

Friday, November 18, 2011

Hey Fam!!

So today I'm introducing you to what I'm using on my hair NOW...what's working and why I like it. I follow the same wash day regimen every time I wash and the same day & night regimen. I've seen alot of improvement in my hair in the last three months.

I also laid off the wigs for awhile. I like my hair OUT and the wigs were doing more harm than good. The lace was taking my edges out and was smothering my scalp. But, let's be clear, I was wearing wigs EVERYDAY so it was too much for my scalp and hair.

Washing and Detangling:

I shampoo my hair with Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo and detangle with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. HH has amazing slip and SM Moisture Retention Shampoo cleanses well. The only thing I don't like it that SM shampoo doesn't get my scalp clean...so I use a sulfate shampoo, just on my scalp, to clean it. I use whatever's in my stash, right now, its a Matrix Color Care Shampoo.
Conditioning and Sealing:

I just ( within the last three weeks) started using Cantu Leave In...I LOVE IT! My hair like creamy leave ins. I'm also on the grease bandwagon, sealing with a little Softee Shea Butter Grease. So far, its doing what grease does, which is attracting dirt and building up on my hair and making its way to my scalp.:/ I'm still on the fence with the grease movement.
Styling:

I also use raw shea butter, by itself...no mixing or "whipping"...my hair likes just shea butter. When I'm not using grease, I use the shea butter in seal in moisturizer or a leave in. When I do a wet twist out, I use Shea Moisture Smoothie. I really like this product, I get the best definition but it doesn't hold definition no more than a day or two( even with re-twisting). Plus, its not a good moisturizer for my hair....My hair just soaks it in wet or  the smoothie sits on top of my hair dry. But, mysteriously, it works for a defined  look.

Moisturizing:

Thanks to my girl, Micki...I LOVE Uncle Funky Daughter Extra Butter Creme and Darcy's Botanicals Shea Butter Curl Moisturizer. They both give me the right amount of moisture that lasts beyond two days. That's my 2nd bottle of Darcy's!

Extras!!!:

I also do a Apple Cider Vinger Rinse after I detangle and rinse the HH out to balance my hair's PH and close the cuticles up so that I can retain my length. ACV rinses have been a LIFESAVER!!!!

I also do a protein treatment every 2 to 3 weeks depending on how much breakage I see. I have very porous hair and protein fills in the spaces to strengthen and retain length. I love Joico K-Pac( I use the Sally's Generic brand) thanks to my soror Lisa for introducing me to that.
