~Got Dry/Color Treated Hair? ~ Dove Hair Therapy Color Care Collection....

Hey Everyone!!

I know I don't do a lot of hair care on Rural Glamour (I'm working on that!!). One reason is that my hair is so fickle that if I change up a product in my line up, it can throw off my whole regimen. However, products that are designed for either color treated and or dry hair, my hair always receives well. I was excited when I received this great gift package from Dove Hair Therapy Color Care Collection. I figured, I can try this on my prone to be dry/color treated hair.:)

 ~My Hair Background Disclosure~

I'm three years natural, in year four natural. My hair is 4c and porous, meaning that its very coarse and doesn't not hold moisture for long. It is shoulder length in the back, blown out or straightened and chin length in the front. My hair was color treated in May 2012. I'm not a licensed cosmetologist just a product junkie.:)

I used this conditioner as my deep conditioner treatment. I "DC" on dry hair, so I DC BEFORE I wash. I can't tell you how much this technique has made a difference on my hair. My hair takes the treatment better dry than wet. I'm able to get my more moisture this way.

I actually really liked this as a deep conditioner, but I'm pretty heavy handed, so after three uses the tube is almost gone!! The formula is thick and heavy and softened and moisturized my hair well. I would definitely buy this to use for DCs in the future.

 Color Care Leave In Treatment

 Leave Ins for my hair are so hard to come by especially in drugstore/mass market stores. I need something creamy and fairly heavy in texture to retain moisture. This leave in BLEW ME AWAY!!! It works just as well as my Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Leave In and Color Care Leave In is on the drugstore shelves!!! No ordering online or running to Ulta or a dept. store, Dove Color Care Leave In Treatment is a staple in my regimen now.:)

Color Care Shampoo 

I used this shampoo on my scalp only since I only Co-Wash my hair.  Because it has a sulfate ingredient, it did cleanse my scalp well, but the little shampoo that did get on my hair, it didn't not leave my hair feeling stripped on dry. If you are shampoo kinda natural gal, this is great moisturizing and creamy shampoo and that cleanses and leaves the hair super soft.

~Overall~

Dove Hair Therapy Color Care Line is an awesome line that is available "on the shelves" as I say or in mass market/ drugstores that caters wonderfully to dry hair. My color is quit old ( May 2012) so can't say I saw alot of improvement on my color. However, I would suggest, from past color I've had, that using products that cater to hair color or dry hair helps with retaining the purity and gloss of your hair color. If you are natural and want to save some cash on products, this Dove Color Care line is great if you have dry hair as well.

Lippie of the Day!!!! MAC Fresh Brew....

Hey everyone!!!

So I'm currently digging instagram and all the beauty and fashion gals I follow. I love daily doses of makeup, fashion and random bits of everyday life. What can I say? I'm a visual person!

Since I do a Jewelry of the Day post on my jewelry blog Dazed+Adorned, I thought it would be fun to do a Lip or Lippie of the day on Rural Glamour. I seriously wear a different lipstick shade everyday. I love the chameleon aspect of changing it up everyday. I hope you enjoy these posts. Let me know what you think!

~Swatches + First Impressions~ Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Mattes Lipstick.....

 Hey Everyone!!

I spotted the Rimmel Kate Moss Mattes about month ago in one of the my hometown CVS' but it was only the light colors. I didn't even know there other colors until I saw some tweet about a red shade called Kiss of Life. The beauty angels shined down on me once again, and I was a random Walgreens and spotted the whole collection in the Rimmel permanent display. No need to fret, the Kate Mattes are permanent shades not a limited edition collection.

 I was in a hurry so I only got two colors: 110 and 111 Kiss of Life.

 111 Kiss of Life. I believe Kiss of Life is the only color with a name. The others are numbers only.

~First Impressions~

I find them to be more of satin finish than a matte. I guess they have to have some sort of moisturizing quality. They are not "one swipe" color. I did about two coats each on my lips to get the pigmentation I wanted. I really love 110. 110 will the color for the summer! 111 Kiss of Life is just ok. I wanted it to give me more but I will try it with a look soon to get my final consensus on it.

Hey Everyone!!

I finally spotted the new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks that the blogsphere is going nuts over! I posted a picture on my Instagram of one of the displays in a CVS. Looks like some stores will get more colors than others because my CVS only had 20 shades or so.

This week CVS has Milani at Buy One Get One 1/2 off. This is a once in a blue moom sale Milani does. Real talk. I remember when makeup companies did BOGO Free sales in drugstores but I digress.:)

~First Impressions~

I picked  up Rose Hip, which is color from their last lipstick collection, because of the hype of it being a MAC Candy Yum Yum dupe. I don't own Candy Yum Yum but if  you google Candy Yum Yum Rose Hip, you will find  alot of people disputing the claims that its a dupe. What I did notice with Rose Hip is that it is one coat of pure pigmented pink! Its not as bright as I thought it would be though. There other drugstore bright pinks brighter than Rose Hip.

I put on Naturally Chic this morning and immediately  thought, "I need a backup of this!". It is my perfect nude. I wear no liner with it, its just that perfect. I even put Naturally Chic on twice today and never reapply lipstick after its worn off, that's just a beauty pet peeve of mine. I will be collecting backups of Naturally Chic.
