~Holiday Gift Guide 2013~ Laura Mercier Colour-To-Go Portable Palette For Eyes, Lips & Cheeks in Smoky Violets......

Disclosure: This product was sent to me for consideration for review. These are my own opinions and I was not paid for this post.

Hey Everyone!

I have another holiday makeup kit for you. This is one is from Laura Mercier and its called Colour-To-Go Portable Palette For Eyes, Lips & Cheeks in Smoky Violets.

 Here's the specs:

-3 Eye Shadows
-1 Tightline Eye Liner
-1 Bronzer
-1 Blush
-1 Lips Gloss ( in After Hours)

Avaible in Smoky Violets and Smoky Nudes

Price: $50

Here are the swatches of the shadows and the liner. I didn't even realize that the dark shade was a liner!!! You will need to have a wet liner brush on hand to use the liner.
This look I created with all the shades except the liner. The liner I used is from a brand I can't even remember!( Grrr!!:( )
I find the shadows to be soft and pigmented, simply, quality shadows. When you wear alot of low, low end makeup, quality just sneaks up on you like a thief in the night! You'll be like "Ohhhh...look that pigmentation!" LOL!

The blush is super light but it acutally works for a nice highlight. I used the blush and bronzer in this palette for a glowy cheek as you can see.

The gloss is nice if you like a basic nude lip. It doesn' really show its true fabulosity until its on top of a lip color. I paired the After Hours gloss with Wet N' Wild 902C or Bare It All, and its now my new nude lip to go to!!

Overall.....

Six Laura Mercier products in a portable, TRUE travel size palette for $50 is a STEAL. If you are a newbie to this brand or a fan with a budget, holiday time is the perfect season to stock up on some products that LM offers for a great deal. Go get this palette!!

~Fresh Coat~ Halloween Nails! Sinful Colors Black Magic.....

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Hey Everyone!!!

I did a holiday mani! **Gasp!**

I don't like Halloween. Grown people wearing trashy or insensitive costumes and my kids acting straight foolish over candy given to them by strangers. I'm ready for the day to be over and hasn't started.

Best thing about tomorrow....I'm wearing blue lipstick( because its appropriate for the day) and this fun glittery duo on my nails.

Sinful Color Black Magic and Nanacoco Cowboy Dance

I haven't bought a Sinful Colors polish in forever. They are notorious for creating a collection out of repromotes and calling it new. I hate that! But, Ms. Black Magic was calling my name, as usual. I used Nanacoco Cowboy Dance and Black Magic on top and it created smoky glittery fun.:)

What are you wearing on your nails for Halloween? Let me know in the comments!

These are the lip tints: Enamored, Lovely, Believe and Grateful....
Swatches of the lip tints: Enamored, Lovely, Believe and Grateful....
These are the matte lip tints: Cheerful, Generous, Destined and Glee....
Swatches of Cheerful, Generous, Destined and Glee....

Overall....

I had been dying to try the matte lip tints, so getting four of them in a set is a deal. I own two of the lip tints( the glossier ones). I like the texture on the lips but I'm not a gloss girl so they are really not my tea. Plus the scent of spearmint is too much. Just turn that mint down a notch and I can wear them comfortably. Now back to the matte lip tints. I thought that the pink and red shades were amazing. The coverage is opaque and pigmented. The nude matte lip tint was very spotty in coverage on my lips even though the shade is a perfect nude on me. I loved the matte ones better than the gloss. But if you are a gloss girl, you will dig the lip tints.

What do you think? Will you be buying Pure Delights?

~Holiday Gift Guide 2013~ tarte Off The Cuff Amazonian Clay Cheek Palette & Bracelet....

Disclosure: These products were sent for consideration of review. I was not paid for this post.

Hey Everyone!!

Its the end of October and some companies are already releasing holiday kits and that makes me very happy!! Holiday Kits are the best buy when you want to get a taste of a brand or there is a product you have been dying to try but don't want to buy a full size.

tarte is introducing  Off The Cuff Amazonian Clay Blush Palette and Cuff ( A Sephora Exclusive) for the holidays. If you don't know, tarte's Amazonian Clay Blushes are legend. They have crazy lasting power, awesome pigmentation and look great on all skin tones, even brown girls...

The Off The Cuff palette is $42. One tarte blush alone is around $26.
Off The Cuff comes with a leather cuff...
That actually fits me!!! Its not tight or uncomforable and it fits right in with the rest of my jewelry:)
The palette has five shades:  Crave, Dazzled, Darling, Dollface, and Park Ave Princess. Park Ave Princess and Dazzled are the only repromotes. Dollface is a color that is also repromoted but no longer available through tarte as a single. ( my mirror was broken in shipping)
Here are the swatches: Crave, Dazzled, Darling, Dollface, and Park Ave Princess....

Overall.....

I found only three of the colors wearable: Crave, Darling and Dollface. Dazzled didn't show up on my skin at all and the Park Ave Princess in this palette is lighter than the original one, which I also own. If you are a lighter skinned woman of color or lighter than me, you should be able to rock all the shades. The shades are pigmented by not as pigmented as the regular blush singles which took by surprise. Also, I wish the names of the blushes were on the back of the palette and not on the plastic covering.

Are you planning on buying Off The Cuff? Let me know what you think in the comments!!

  • Medium: receive primer in medium and undereye corrector in medium-tan
  • Tan: receive primer in tan and undereye corrector in medium-tan
  • Deep: receive primer in tan and undereye corrector in deep
I was sent the Tan kit, so I got the Tan BB tinted treatment primer and the BB tinted undereye corrector in Deep.
BB tinted treatment primer in Tan- I already owned the BB tinted treatment primer in Tan. The color is a tad bit to light to wear alone but the formulation of a BB Cream and primer is amazing and works with my skin. So, I wear another BB Cream or foundation ON TOP of the BB tinted treatment primer and my skin is almost flawless from that duo!

BB tinted undereye corrector in Deep- The undereye corrector has a peach tone that corrects dark circles and dark places on the face instantly. I love it!! I don't own a product like this and its great addiction to my foundation routine.
Special Edition complexion brush and undereye brush- tarte thinks they are slick. Real talk, they have some of the best brushes I've even used  tucked within their collections. They would totally slay the game with a full blown brush set. These brushes are soft and do an excellent job blending the undereye correction and tinted primer. The four brushes included are worth the price of kit. Buy the set for the brushes!!

Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara- Lights, Camera, Lashes is my favorite high end mascara, so I was excited to try the Lights, Camera, Flashes! I didn't like Flashes as much. As I found out, too many coats causes flaking but two or so coats is just fine. I can use this mascara for when I want more natural lashes.

Lights, camera, lashes waterproof 12 hr. inner rim liner- Did they say inner rim liner as in, waterline liner that lasts 12 hours? Yep, I was excited for this product also. Does it work? Not on me. The liner gave me the darkest waterline fill I've seen in a while but it melted after a couple of hours and seeped all into on lower lash line and corners of my eyes. :/ If you are not a watery eyed mess like me, this might be your perfect product.
LipSurgence power pigment in Awakening- Gorgeous, all around pink that worked perfectly on my complexion. Total winner! Plus it's creamy but not greasy and glossy. tarte nailed this formula in a chunky pencil.
Here's the entire look....I look super light because I was standing in the door taking the picture!!! No filters, used.

Overall....
Worth $60 even if you just buy it for the mascara and brushes. I would have loved a limited edition blush thrown in there though. I love tarte blushes.
