Fresh Coat: Weekend Mani...Sally Hansen Virtual Violet
I'm apologizing in advance for the clarity of this photo. I broke down and had to get a new camera in order to keep Rural Glamour going. I'm all about real photos...so I couldn't function and present quality content without showing you guys what I see thru my camera lens, my real life as a real beauty addict. I purchased what I could afford. Even though this camera was cheap, it is soooo hard to figure out. So many modes, numbers, things to use for different photos. I was not expecting that! LOL!
My Weekend mani consisted of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Virtual Violet. I once had a Becca lipgloss that looked very similar. Virtual Violet also reminds me of Urban Decay Asphyxia
I'm back this week with a giveaway and more fun and hopefully clearer photos!
Fresh Coat: Weekend Mani Inspired by Ciara....
Saturday, April 02, 2011
Last week, singer Ciara
post a picture of her manicure with the blinged out pinky. I thought it was sophisticated but fun. Plus, I loved the studded pinky effect!
I chose a nude, Maybelline Sheer Pebble and Kleancolor Chunky Silver
for the pinky and some random rhinestones in between the glitter for the blinged out effect.
I love it! I love creating fun manicures for the weekend, even if I'm bored most of the time. lol!

Nicka K NK Lipstick....A Pretty Pucker for a Low Price!
Friday, April 01, 2011
I can honestly say I'm lipstick crazy. I prefer it over lipgloss anyday. I don't how that happened! I think the remergence of all things lady like set me on another beauty obessession.
I found NK ( Nicka K) lipstick
at my local BSS for $1. Yes, ma'am....$1. Over the 2,3 years, I've had a couple and really didnt like them but after doing some research on some higher priced colors that I liked but didnt want to buy, I found that NK had alot dupes or very popular colors for this season.
The eight colors at the top are my favorites!!! Here they swatched on my hairy arm:
Starting for the left:
1) Natural- a creamy nude color
2)Chocolate- a creamy cocoa color, I use Chocolate to tone down some the Natural and another shade to match me perfectly
3)Peach Beige- a shimmery peach brown
4)Purple Rain- no where near purple! lol! Its a beige-y pink and I use a bit of NK Chocolate to perfect the color on me.
5)Vibrant Orange- a shimmer bright orange. I'm obsessed with Orange and Coral lippies for the spring/summer!
6) Divine Violet- The closest I've even gotten to a MAC Lavender Whip dupe
7) Brilliant Fuchsia- a beautiful shimmery deep violet
8)Ruby Red- NK has several reds, this was the perfect one for a me. A dupe of L'Oreal Beyonce Infallible
.
Here are some of the duos I created with NK Lipstick.
The only con I would say about that I would say about the lipstick is the smell, which some weird plastic, watermelon, melon smell. However, NK Purple Rain must be one of the new formulas because it doesnt have the same smell.
Do you own any NK Lipsticks??? Let me know?

F.O.T.D with L.A. Colors, Goodwill Haul and Tuesday Morning Has Makeup?
Thursday, March 31, 2011
I'm always finding things...unopened....I'm ashamed sometimes. really.:(
However I found these L.A. Colors Professional Series 10 Color Eyeshadows in my stash this morning...I had totally forgot about them! I purchased them at Dollar General for a $1 a piece.
I created a look with the "Brights" ( the unopened one). They are a bit sheer, but wearable brights for a subtle look or punchy office look. Plus, the price is great, especially if you are a beginner and you want to experiment.
The key to making cheap makeup work, in my opinion, is technique. I personally know women who own tons of high end makeup and don't know a thing about putting it on. People ask me all the time, what eye shadow or lip gloss and I'm wearing and I tell them Wet N' Wild, Milani, Hard Candy, etc. and they can't believe it. I invested the time...on You Tube ( LOL!) to learn how to apply makeup, even if its cheap. I'm not knocking the high end brands ( because I love alot of them personally:)) but technique can take $1 eyeshadow to another level!
Now that I've preached my sermon today...let the chuuurrrch say "A-MON"! lol!
Sub par technique today.:( But I had some say to me in the grocery store, "Your makeup looks amazing!"
Now on to my mini Goodwill Fashion haul!!
Over sized Clutch-$3....Ummm...those elephants are doing too much. Me and Elephants...don't get along, chile. lol! But I loved the over sized fabulous of it, reminded me of these Reiko and Juannette . Saving money has me wanting to haul plus size lingerie from Simply Yours.
Vintage Button Earrings-$1....
So, I ventured into Tuesday Morning...since I heard they sell cosmetics. I never go in there because....ummm....they sell home stuff, and I dont own a home, and when I owned a home, I couldnt afford to do anything to it...but I digress. I MUST go into more since there other things than home stuff. I love it in there! I had the bam-bams with me, so I didnt have time to troll but I did come across the beauty stuff and scored some Cyndi Watson Cosmetics for $.99 a piece. Yass ma'am $.99!!!
