~Review~ mark. Lipclick SPF 15 Color Shine Lipstick.....

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Its so great try some new mark. by Avon products! I've been fan since 2003 and was regular ordering maching out of their magalog. Somewhere along the way I stopped ordering.:( So....It's good to be back in the "fold" with mark. and their new Summer 2011 goodies!

First up is mark. Lipclick SPF 15 Color Shine Lipstick:

mark Lipclick with SPF 15 ($10)a blend of SPF protection, color and shine in one simple sweep.  This unique collection is packaged in a petite, magnetic lipstick case that offers fool-proof storing in any makeup bag or purse.  Available in 8 shades, including on-trend corals, glamorous plums and versatile nude

I got to try Honey Bunny and Ginger Snap....
Honey Bunny is a pink-brown glossy shade and  Ginger Snap is a brown-golden glossy shade....
Here's are some swatches of Honey Bunny and Ginger Snap....they are sheer, and go on like a gloss.
Wearing Honey Bunny.....

Thoughts:

-I like the Honey Bunny shade. Its a sheer pinky-brown great for when you just need to apply something to your lips but lip balm or chapstick is too basic. Lipclicks is just step above both.

- I read the description, so I didnt expect them to be big powerful pigmented lippies. However, if you have pigmented lips( like naturally brown lips like me) I would suggest a brighter shade lipclick if you want color.

-They are priced at $10....I don't agree with the price point...$5 or $7 sounds more reasonable for the product.

-The "clicking" mechanism is almost forgettable...but if you are like me, and you lose tops of lipsticks all the time in your makeup bag or handbag, its genius! Makes total sense...guess that's were the $10 price point comes in.

-feels great on the lips and has the signature mark. spearmint scent I like.

What do you think about mark. Lipclicks? Let me know in the comments!

Available June 2011

Disclosure: These products were sent for my honest review and consideration.

Adorn'd ~Miss Priss Jewels~

Monday, May 23, 2011

Let me pace myself.... When say I'm a fan of Miss Priss Jewels....I am a FAN, honey!! I was first inspired by her nail art, so much that I did a Fresh Coat post with my own inspired nail art. I constantly troll her Etsy site and recently she did a Ethnic Barbie collection ( most of that is SOLD OUT) that was classy and well articulated. Any woman, any age could wear those Barbie pieces!! Check out what I have from Miss Priss Jewels......

First, Kari, the owner, so graciously gifted me this beautiful bejewled compact called Sexy & Sophisticated Compact Mirror. It has a double mirror inside and gorgeous rhinestones on the outside. I pull this out of handbag every chance I get!!!

Then, I purchased the Afro Barbie earrings...that I've been wearing with EVERYTHING!!

Visit Miss Priss Jewels at www.missprissjewels.com  and http://www.etsy.com/shop/MissPrissJewels !!!

Fresh Coat: Inspired by Ashanti...Essie A Day Without Shoes.....

 Ummmmm....ok.

So saw these pictures of singer Ashanti at her sister's birthday online and I absolutely love the polish she's wearing. I received something similar in Essie A Day Without Shoes. I won A Day Without Shoes on the TOMS shoes FB page back in March. I don't think its sold in stores.
 O_O.
So yeah....don't the colors look similar? lol! Truly gorgeous light blue with a bit of  silver sheen in it. Reminds me of a crayon I once saw in Crayola 64 pack

~Haul~ CVS Spring 2011 Beauty Clearance.....

My older twin boy is sick today, so I had to run out to CVS to pick up his prescription and I ran into the Beauty Clearance for the Spring. I noticed that not alot of items were marked down this season but of course you have to scan sometimes to see what is on sale. Per G. of Nouveau Cheap, I picked up:

-Revlon Color Stay Mineral Finishing Powder in Suntan Matte and Brighten ( they were the last TWO left!!! Score!!)

Then I got my first Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Polish in  Lavender Cloud. I've never own any of these because $7 is high for a drugstore polish.

I also got  L'Oreal Brow Stylist in Medium Dark.

That's all for now for me. I was actually looking for the Essie Polish that is clearanced at 50% but my CVS didn't have any.

Three Things You Must Pick Up Now: Drugstore Edition....

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Hey Everyone!!!

I've been wearing the hell out of these three products lately and I think they definitely must pick ups at your local drugstore or mass market store. They are afforable and so very worth every penny!!!

Physician's Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Rose: At first, I denied this blush would even show up on my complexion or even look good. However, it is the prettiest pink blush I own. I got mine from CVS when Physician's Formula was 40 % off.  My brown sistas, don't sleep on this shade for you!

Wet N' Wild Color Icon in Comfort Zone: I've been deep, DEEP into this palette since March. Thank God its permanent or I would go out and buy the display clean up! I love a naked, glimmery eye and this the perfect palette for it. Check out my initial post to see all of the looks I created with Comfort zone HERE.:)

Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Mascara Duo in Blue Eyes: I have had this for months, still in the package, till one day I opened it and discovered an amazing volumizing and lenghtening mascara in the black side of the mascara. The black mascara also has a hint on blue in it that makes it looks blue black which enhances a brown eye( hint, hint Physician's Formula:)).
