October 28, 2010 is National Chocolate Day....so....

Happy Chocolate Day!!

I'm celebrating by introducing you all to Chocolate.com a website that features handmade, artisan, and gourmet chocolate gifts from world-class chocolate vendors. We bring together the chocolate chef and the gift buyer to form a unique marketplace.

Chocolate.com is based in Boston but works with local vendors in your area to bring you the best and freshest chocolate around.  So, when you order from Chocolate.com, your chocolate will come from a Chocolatier close to you. The website has an amazing array of products, from cakes, cookies, and types of chocolate( like kosher, vegan, gluten free).

I received my Chocolate Truffles from the The Secret Chocolatier in Charlotte NC ( I live a little over an hour away:)) Every thing came carefully packaged in ice packs and the chocolate was not disturbed by the shipping at all....

This 6-piece truffle sampler was DIVINE HAPPINESS!!! I love every creamy morsel. Every piece was a evenly sweet and gorgeously delightful...I literally wanted to hug the person who made these. LOL! Those six pieces were not enough! I was craving more. I would need a BIG box. Big Girls, Big Boxes.:)

Visit Chocolate.com right now to order chocolate goodies, especially for the holiday approaching where chocolate is the perfect gift. Right now, I'm going to celebrate National Chocolate Day with a Hershey's Chocolate Sundae Pie from Burger King because I've eaten ALL my truffles from Chocolate.com WAYYYY before October 28:).

Also Subscribe to their Newsletter and receive a $5 Gift Certificate!

Fresh Coat: Hard Candy Just Nails in Sky...

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

When I saw Hard Candy Just Nails in Sky in Wal-Mart, I was instantly mentally transported back to the day I discovered Sephora in SouthPark Mall in 1996 in Charlotte. I remember walking in there and instantly feeling like I found a home.lol!

I totally remember Hard Candy and Sky polish ( just like I remember buying Tony& Tina Body Glitter and Shower Gels, it was the 90s!! Woo-hoo!). It was always sold out, but I had a bottle that I barely used. Years later, I saw a old crusty bottle of it in a TJ Maxx but didnt buy it.

Check out the history behind Sky according to Hard Candy's Wikipedia page:

Hard Candy is an American cosmetics company, founded in 1995 by Iranian American sisters, Dineh and Pooneh Mohajer and Benjamin Einstein.
The company's first product was nail polish that Dineh mixed herself - a shade of baby blue named "Sky" to match her sandals. In that same year, actress Alicia Silverstone appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and, when asked about her pastel blue fingernails, replied, "It's 'Sky' by Hard Candy," causing an overnight explosion for the brand.[citation needed] A mere 18 months later the brand was quoted as generating $10 million a year in a Forbes ad featuring Dineh.

Thank God its back and it all places, Wal-Mart. I bought two bottles, well I bought the ONLY two bottles there.
Pretty.!!! Great Formula...this is three coats plus a coat of Seche Vite.

I thought I had something close to color in it in L'Oreal High Tide but High Tide is a grey base and a silver micro shimmer whereas Sky is lighter with a iridescent shimmer.

Have you picked up Sky?

Lash Experiment: 16 weeks featuring TriLash......2 week Update....

Hey Everyone!

The beauty junkie in me has been dying to try a lash growth product but the ex-librarian assistant in me didnt wanna do the research to find out which one works the best. Combine that with my broke single mother-ness and you got no lash growth product yet. However, the Universe is loving me every once in a while and I have the chance to try TriLash for review!!

According the TriLash website:

TriLash is not a mascara or a lengthening effect makeup. TriLash is a revolutionary cosmeceutical scientific breakthrough that helps your body naturally create your very own longer thicker lashes with the advanced patent pending peptide active ingredients. Clinical tests and more importantly user experience has confirmed that TriLash’s key active ingredients work to deliver safe and drug-free results easily and effectively within as little as 2 weeks.

I will do my TriLash experiment like I did my Clinique Even Better Clinical Review and update the change in my lashes every 2 weeks for 16 weeks ( Since each lash cell matures individually, continued use of TriLash for up to 16 weeks is advised for best results.).

I will also not  give a full review of the product til the 16 weeks is up.:)

Lets get started!!

This photo of my lashes was taken the day that I started applying the serum. I have okay length lashes but they are not thick and I have some sparse places. I will take the picture after I wash my face at night so all the photos for this experiment will have mascara free, natural lashes.

*2 WEEKS UPDATE*

I see a slight change in length in some places. I'm not applying it to the lower lash line since I dont wear mascara on my lower lashes. Too much smudging for me:(

I think I'll take the growth experiment pictures like this one above....It shows the difference better...

See you in TWO more weeks for the FOUR weeks update!!

Monday, October 25, 2010

 Hi Everyone!!

I wanted to share a recipe I came up with that is a yummy and sweet coffee drink and comparable to Starbucks Pumpkin Latte that I heart so much!

Starbucks Pumpkin Latte will soon be gone ( I think they go the day after Thanksgiving) so I came up with this drink to satisfy my taste buds. The coffee I'm using is Cuppa Jane Pumpkin Harvest, which is also seasonal for their company. Here is what you will need:

-Cuppa Jane Pumpkin Harvest Coffee( grounded, brewed HOT Oww!)
-International Delight Coffee House Inspirations Breve Creme in Dark Chocolate Cream Creamer
-Reddi Whip Extra Creamy
-Sweetener of your choice( I like sugar, sugar, and more sugar:))
-A cute cup in put it all in!
 1) Brew Cuppa Jane Pumpkin Harvest. I'm using my new Bodum Coffee Press.
 2) Sweeten the hot coffee as you like and pour in as much creamer as you like and stir. I like creamy coffee like Grandma used to drink!
 3) Top it off with the Reddi Whip....

There's your yummy warm Fall drink! Enjoy! Visit Cuppa Jane on Facebook and Twitter!

A Trip To The County Fair featuring Envirosax and Eco Vessel!!!!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Yesterday, I packed up the boys and took them to the county fair. This fair has been coming to my hometown for over 100 years, including from the time I was a little girl. I knew that it would be full of action and my two busy bodies were super extra excited. I decided pack a easy bag: cash, my id, keys, and baby wipes....

I used my Envirosax reuable bag in Oasis to carry all the necessities. It was lightweight and definitely not as heavy as regular handbag which I didnt want to tote. I thought it would great for carrying any prizes the boys would win like stuffed animals or toys.

For myself, I want to make sure I wasn't thirsty and if you have ever been to the fair, you know the drink prices are outrageous. $3.00 for a bottle of water and Wal-Mart is across the street?!?! I think not! I used my Eco Vessel Stainless Steel Water Bottle and filled it with ice water. The Eco Vessel is very insulated, so my water kept ice cold the whole time.

And now for some fun!!

Here are the boys on the cars....the rode EVERY car ride. Boys.
Including the bumper cars....they rode this THREE times....

I was shocked to see this. I used to ride this as a child and teen....Its soooooo old!

Visit Envirosax and Eco Vessel on Facebook and Twitter as well!
