I have an entire Pinterest Board with DIY projects with some spilling over to my Beauty Products board. I'm always pinning the beauty DIYs: How To Make Your Own Whipped Coconut Oil, How To Make Lush Bath Jelly and recently came across "How To Make DIY Mineral Veil"
To those who are not familiar with Mineral Veil, its a kind of translucent setting powder that the Bare Escentuals brand makes. I've had some the original at one point and it's just... ok. There other brands very similar, its basically a colorless loose powder.
I followed the instructions to a T...sort of. lol! The credit for this DIY goes to Reese Kistel's Blog.:)
I used this old container and put the left over bronzer in another smaller container...
Reese's recipe is as follows: "THE RECIPE: In an old powder container, shake together one tablespoon cornstarch and 1/2 teaspoon baby powder. You can add a sprinkle of powder foundation or cocoa powder for color, but this is optional. Congratulations, you just saved yourself $20."
I over made mine! lol! Not paying attention to the measurements. I did 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of baby powder. It was too much to put in the container, so re-read the instructions and made it over.:)
Put on the sifter....
Grabbed my fluffy brush....
Proceeded to apply the DIY Mineral Veil in my mother's kitchen.....
Voila! Face covered in DIY mineral veil!( I have PURPLE eyebrows. I'll explain that later O_O)
I made this Mineral Veil on this past Saturday and used it everyday since and I will have to say it works exactly like the real thing or any other translucent loose powder. This is a great project if you want to save a bit of cash. Go ahead and try it!!
