~Fresh Coat~ JulieG Gumdrop Collection Nail Colors....

Thursday, May 09, 2013

Hey Everyone!!

Since I missed out on  the great Groupon deal that was on the JulieG Gumdrop Collection, I had to resort to hunting them down. I spotted them in Rite-Aid which is the only place they are sold. The swatches I saw of these were gorgeous!! I picked up Blueberry Fizz, Rock Candy, and Crushed Candy.

Blueberry Fizz ( on the ring finger)

Crushed Candy( on the middle finger)

Rock Candy ( on the pinky and index fingers)

Overall....

I LOVE this polish!! The brilliant texture, the opacity, and the colors are awesome. I wanted to use a top coat, but from the reviews I read, it would take up to four or five coats of top coat to get a glossy finish, so skipped that idea. These JulieG polishes are smaller than her core line but the same price at $3.99. I found another Rite-Aid that had these polishes so I plan on getting the other shades as well.

Have you tried any of the Gumdrop Collection or any other "sugar" coated polishes? Let me know your favorites in the comments!!

~Haul~ Ulta Goodies...

Monday, September 10, 2012

Hey Everyone!

Ulta has just opened a new store only 30 minutes away from me. Before, the closest store was about an hour away in a very heavy traffic area. I'm not the girl I used to be, a hour away to shop used to be nothing to me but I don't do that now, unless I'm in the car RIDING with someone.lol!

My first trip into the new store, I didn't want to leave. lol! This time I didn't want to leave again either!
I did pick up a couple of goodies, keeping all under $30 and feeling good.:)

Grabbed some cuticle remover for my weekly at home pedis and favorite reconstructing conditioner, Joico K-Pak. I've never seen the small size of this product.
I used to love Ulta store makeup line and I haven't had much of it in a long time. Seems like the price went up on it a bit. They had a sale on the some of the lip products...$4 a piece of these glosses.

I've had one Essence Cosmetics product and it was a polish and really like it, so I got three more polishes and lipstick and I'm going back soon to pick up some the glosses...and polish.

I'm still excited to have a store soooo close to me I could SCREAM!!! LOL! Now if we can get a Sephora between Charlotte and Atlanta in my area, my life will be complete.:)

~Fresh Coat~ Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Ionic Indigo....

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Thanks to CVS and their current Sally Hansen sale ($3 EBS when you but $10 in Sally Hansen)I was able to get on of their new Magnetic Nail Polish colors. They were $9.99 at CVS so I picked up a $1.99 Wet N' Wild polish just to supplement the cost.:)

I've been iffy about magnetic polish trend. I wasn't really crazy about it, I like cremes finish polish the most even though I own the gamut of polishes.  Sally Hansen's collection of these polishes has some really beautiful colors.

Ok...so this picture...is the1st try.

I barely got any magnetic print and I followed to instructions...almost. O_O I didn't leave the magnet over the polish for EXACTLY 10 seconds or more.

So for the 2nd try, I was watching a You Tube video and I was able time each nail exactly 10 seconds a piece by watching the time on the video. This picture below shows a more clear magnetic print to the nails....

Here's photos of the next day in natural light. It took some getting used to, but I figured out how to work them better and I really like the magnetic polish!

Have you tried the Sally Hansen Magnetic Polish or any other magnetic polish? Let me know!!

~Fresh Coat~ Ruby Kisses Barbie Purple & Crazy Night Out....

Thursday, August 11, 2011

 What a week....

I finally used one of the two  Ruby Kisses polishes I pick up on my last BSS haul. First, let me tell you, I don't know if they changed the formula or what but this polish smells HORRIBLE. It doesn't smell normal. Its smells like its an old formaldehyde formula. My nails better not be yellow when I take it off!

Second, this shade, Barbie Purple, is very, very opaque. Its almost a one coat but it streaks. Its also holds up well with a top coat. Must be the what that smell is. LOL!

I did the tips in Crazy Night Out which is packed with glitter in a clear base for a $1 polish. I didn't have to do too much of my "dabbing" method to get the look I wanted.

Anyone own Ruby Kisses polish? What are your favorite shades?

Rural Glamourous Weekend...

Monday, April 28, 2008

What I listened to: Besides being on that new Mariah Carey all week, I picked up Songs of The Siren up at Starbucks and its crazy! I mean, you got Corrine Bailey Rae, Ayo, Feist, Keren Ann and other global sisters in music. I always get sucker into a Starbucks CD!
What I'm "painting": I have this fear of not being prepared for the summer season.I've been grocery shopping, loading up on chicken breasts, Pop-Tarts, reuse able grocery bags, soap, towels, paper towels, and toilet paper. Jesus, last summer got me so nervous that it will be the same as this summer. So, while I was at my favorite stop, Greene's Salvage, I picked up all of these not Essie,TS( Trade Secrets) and Creative nail lacquers for .50 each. I definitely won't run out of polishes this summer either.
What I "ran" up on: KLS Cosmetics at TJ Maxx. That lip palette at the bottom is so underrated because its really hot. The texture is just right and the pigments are beautiful.
And then this happened: I went back in the Greene's for my Mom and saw this brand new O.P.I. case sitting on the counter for $15.00 with the regular price tag still attached for 49.95. Copped it!!
And filled it up with the new polishes and clean out the old ones and packed up the fall/winter shades.

Smooches!
