Fresh Coat: NARS Jungle Red....

Last week, I SCORED NARS Jungle Red Set ( above) brand new, never opened at Marshalls on clearance for $15.

Yassss......cousins, $15 bucks.

I thought would use the NARS Jungle Red polish first. I love a classic red polish. It reminds me of my Grandma and how her hands were always neat and groomed and nails polished the color red. That red polish, which was either Revlon Cherries In The Snow, or some Sally Hansen color, made her ring adorned hands look finished and perfect. Red polish also reminds me of my mother, who wears red or some shade of red polish, ONLY.

Ok.

These pictures with the flash...lie. lol! NARS Jungle Red is actually a dark, bloody red but the camera reads it as a true red. I actually like the camera's reading of the shade.:)

It was also three coats of polish to get a good creamy finish. I've own several NARS polishes in the past:  NARS Arabesque, NARS Orgasm....The formulas are ok.

Review: Lipstock Cream Lip Conditioner....

This winter has been rough on my face and lips. I've never had so much dryness in my life. I think its because the winter weather was all over the  place for us Southerners: rain, three snowfalls, hot sun, cold windy days....

Chaos to country folks! lol!

I tried a new lip conditioner called Lipstock to bring back some life to my lips. The above picture is how it arrived in its "signature" packaging. I love the simplicity of the packaging and how it looked like a  delicate piece of candy!

Here's a brief description of Lipstock:

Pros:

-I like the packaging in the bullet shaped tube. It was easy to use and store and find as the white colored container stands out over all the tubes of lippies I own.

-The formula is divine. Smooth application.

-Unscented and unflavored. That is a super plus for me!



Cons:
-I didn't think that the formula soaked in well into my lips. Its not greasy but I would think it would soak in more than sit on the skin. I wanted it to condition more.

- I kept losing the top off the tube. It wasn't very secure.


Overall:

I think its a great combination of ingredients and love in a tube! Really, Lipstock is worth it because you will get the wear out of it for the season and does the job of protecting the delicate skin on your lips from the elements.

Fresh Coat: Vintage Revlon Top Speeds and an NOTD.....

Happy Monday and I hope everyone had a splendid weekend:)

About a month ago, I came across this collection of "vintage" Revlon Top Speed Polish at Ross for $5.99 for all five. I thought the colors were beautiful wearable neutrals and cremes and decided to pick it up! Now, they are old but the consistency and formula were fresh as if they had never been opened.

Here I'm wearing  Revlon Winey. It dried just as quick as the new ones, but I only needed two coats with this one. I own three of the new Top Speeds and I find that two out of that three, I need three coats.

One other thing I noticed....This color turned my nails yellow! Even with a base coat and ridge filler, they turned a really, REALLY bright yellow. I have never had that to happen in recent years, definitely happened back in the day. I'm assuming it was the formula from back in the day.:) It took weeks for my nails to come back to their natural color.

China Glaze Lightening Bolt over Sally Hansen In The Spotlight.

A "banger"!! As they would say about a great song. I loved this look and will doing it again!

China Glaze Crushed Candy over Pro 10 Yellow....Thumbs ALL THE WAY DOWN. OMG! The yellow seemed like it wasnt completely dry when I applied the crackle, but it was!! I'll have to keep playing with Crushed Candy, I guess.

China Glaze Black Mesh over Zoya Dovima Matte. I saw a similar duo over on Kiss My Acetone that I was inspired by. Black on Black Crackle. I love this because it looks like snakeskin.
