~Review & Swatches~ Wet N' Wild Ferga-vicious Eye Kit For Your Edgy Side.....

Thursday, October 04, 2012

I finally spotted the Wet N' Wild Fergie sets about two weeks ago ( on my birthday) at Walgreens in Gaffney. If you are in that area, there were two full displays of all three sets.

I only got one set, Ferga-vicious. Why? They are $7.99 a piece....and there's not $8 worth a product in that box in my opinion, that I will use....

Moving along....:)

The Kit includes: Eyeshadow quad in Ferga-vicious, Mega Length Mascara( which I have always loved), Color Icon Shimmer Pencil, Mega Liner Liquid Liner and eye shadow brush and a brow comb/brush duo.

Swatches on the Color Icon Shimmer Pencil and the Ferga-vicious eye shadow quad.....
First Look: I did something really basic with all four shades.....
The lighter shades blended well and they have a medium pigmentation like most Wet N' Wild shadows.
On the next day, I did a smokier, darker look with the palette....

The black shade is hard to blend but heavily pigmented...

Consensus:

I'm glad I only bought one. Sorry, but this is not worth $8....maybe $5 at the most:
-The eye shadows are ok and nothing original. If you own Wet N' Wild's Sugar Plum Fairy and Lust 6-pan shadows you should be ok to skip this kit.
-I like the mascara, but a full size of it is only $2.99.
-The black liner is dud with a flimsy brush.
-Who is going to use that eye shadow brush???
-The silver liner, that same liner was in one of the holiday kits from 2010.

So, does anyone else own Ferga-vicious or plan on getting it? Let me know!

~Pinterest DIY Beauty~ How To Make Your Own Mineral Veil....

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

I have an entire Pinterest Board with DIY projects with some spilling over to my Beauty Products board. I'm always pinning the beauty DIYs: How To Make Your Own Whipped Coconut Oil, How To Make Lush Bath Jelly and recently came across "How To Make DIY Mineral Veil"

To those who are not familiar with Mineral Veil, its a kind of translucent setting powder that the Bare Escentuals brand makes. I've had some the original at one point and it's just... ok. There other brands very similar, its basically a colorless loose powder.

I followed the instructions to a T...sort of. lol! The credit for this DIY goes to Reese Kistel's Blog.:)

You will need Cornstarch, Baby Powder, empty or not used powder containers with the sifter top.
I used this old container and put the left over bronzer in another smaller container...
Reese's recipe is as follows: "THE RECIPE:  In an old powder container, shake together one tablespoon cornstarch and 1/2 teaspoon baby powder. You can add a sprinkle of powder foundation or cocoa powder for color, but this is optional. Congratulations, you just saved yourself $20."
I over made mine! lol! Not paying attention to the measurements. I did 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of baby powder. It was too much to put in the container, so re-read the instructions and made it over.:)
 Put on the sifter....
 Grabbed my fluffy brush....
Proceeded to apply the DIY Mineral Veil in my mother's kitchen.....
Voila! Face covered in DIY mineral veil!( I have PURPLE eyebrows. I'll explain that later O_O)

I made this Mineral Veil on this past Saturday and used it everyday since and I will have to say it works exactly like the real thing or any other translucent loose powder. This is a great project if you want to save a bit of cash. Go ahead and try it!!

~Fresh Coat~ Revlon Sparkle Aplenty......

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Its something about the "Runway Report" display that sends fire in my bones!! Especially when the polish lands in my neck of the woods, which isn't very often. Plus, I saw this Sparkle Aplenty on Youtube's Crystalis007 nails and I had to have it.

I applaud Revlon for keeping their Limited Editions and new polishes at the $4.99 price point while other brands drugstore  jack up limited edition product prices with polish.
( with flash) Sparkle Aplenty in three coats. I found it a bit sheer. The black base is more like a jelly so it will never get that opaque. Even with the massive hexagon shaped glitter, I still saw my nail underneath! Tsk, tsk Revlon.

( without flash) I really wanted to love Sparkle Aplenty but she just didn't grow on my the five days I wore her.:/ The concept of a chunky black and silver glitter in a black base was just ok. I wanted SPECTACULAR!!!! LOL!

Anyone planning on getting Sparkle Aplenty or have you seen it in your neck of the woods? Let me know!!
