Looking Back....Resolutions of 2007

Saturday, January 12, 2008

I'm having the hardest time coming up with some new Fashion and Beauty Resolutions for 2008. Does that mean something? Anyway...I thought I would look back to see what I have accomplished.

Jamie's Fashion and Beauty Resolutions 2007....

1) Step up the work attire fashion game- Well, I ended up leaving the library and started to work for the Le Lion which requires a semi uniform. Hell, I like wearing a uniform because I don't a fashion headache in the mornings. Plus we can wear what ever accessories, so I have fun doing that and found an elated love for bangles and bracelets.

My secret to getting them on my wide hands...lotion or baby oil slip them right on. Apply it on you hands before putting them on.:)

2)Continue to maintain healthy hair-I don't know how "healthy" my hair really is under this weave( lol) but I've rocking the wild curly hair look since this summer. My co-worker always tells me,"It's so you and your personality..."

3)Step up the shoe game for the winter-Did that...bought a serious amount of flats this winter and fall...

4)Indulge in more pedicures-Uh...not successful. I have no patience in a nail salon or at home. So I keep them lotioned and the nails painted. This will be a renewal resolutions.

5) Buy new pillows and new satin pillowcases- done and done!

6)Seek out and use more natural and organic products-My store has a really great but small organic and natural section that I love to pass through.

7)Find the perfect: shimmery peach l/g, nude l/g, brow pencil or powder, blackest black mascara.- I found the brow pencil and black mascara( Milani and Loreal's HIP)

8)Wear more fun jewelry- three words: This N'That in the 'Burg on Pine Street!

9) Buy more pretty dresses-two words: Simply Fashions in the 'Burg on Pine Street!! The have the best arsenal of cheap big girl dresses and other fabu for a big booty diva. I can go in there with $50 and have a new wardrobe.

10)Buy a new robe and slippers- Slippers yes, Robe no.

11)Find a new great hair color-I'll admit, I'm chicken when it comes to hair color. I'm just comfortable in my own shade, so I'll leave it at that.

12)Start new collections- Well, my perfume collection has gotten quite large.

13) Learn How to:Contour the face, apply lashes, use liquid eyeliner, use concealer-Check on liquid eyeliner and concealer.

14)Collect more fashion books-I can't remember what books I got. Stop! I got that Rachel Zoe book which is a fun read.

I'll work on the resolutions for 2008 tonight...:)

Love ya'll

Hanging in there...

Friday, December 14, 2007

Hey folks!

I'm so glad to be in the blogging spirit! Of course, you know my sad ass story(Computer is @ Momma's and I won't pay for Internet @ my house...), so I try to get on here as much as I can. If I don't, I won't know what's going on in the world. Can't depend on Union and Spartanburg to keep me updated... So Here's what's poppin':
-Every time I look at my Tarte We Wish You Wealth Palette, I smile:)!!!!I love it so much. Thanks Candace!!!
-My car is fixed so that's buying me some time til' I get my income tax. It's not leaking anything and seems to be riding well. I'm broke but I'm riding. You can't do anything down here in the country without a car. Including getting to work and the occasional drive to the 'burg( if you don't work there, already)
-Let me tell ya'll something. Don't ever underestimate people who work in grocery stores/supermarket. This has been one the hardest jobs. But I don't have a bad day. Well, except when I came to work yesterday and the DSD printer was broke. That's screwed me up all morning.
-I'm seriously addicted to McDonald's Hazelnut Ice Coffee and McDonald's Cinnamelts. I get the same order every morning. It's like 4.00 a day, 5 days a week. And I complain about being broke. ha!
-It seems that since I turned 30, all of the cuties that I meet are married. Or separated from the wife. Or complain about paying child support( you know I don't play that). Or just ain't about sh*t. And none of them believe that I'm 30. Now when I was 29, it was believable.
-I miss my friends. My real friends. They know who they are.:)
-I need a vacation.
-I keep missing all of my TV shows. The Game,Keyshia Cole, even I Love NY. I fall asleep about 8:30 EVERY night. I'm seriously busted when I get home.
-I will give ya'll My Christmas wishlist this weekend....
-So far, for Christmas, I got a Old Navy Gift Card and and TV stand for my big ass TV.And I haven't put it together and the TV is still on the floor. My kids thinks it a toy and sit there little cars on it. Maybe if I didn't go to sleep at 8:30pm I could get somethings done!!!
Love yall!!
Off to pick up the bams...:)

***Update***Furious!!!

Sunday, December 09, 2007

So the car did finally break down, again...right in the parking lot of the mechanic. :)
So I go to Enterprise ( @ 5:30 Friday night) and all they have is a 2008 Chevy Silverado.
And I've been driving it all weekend long.:) And getting the strangest looks for people, too.
I'm going to have to get a new car. This week. Pray for me and my credit. lol!

Furious!!!!!!!

I'm so furious.....at my freaking CAR!!!

I'm so sick of it...it makes me cry....ughhh!!!

So about a month ago the car broke down on 176 going to Spartnaburg. I had it towed to the Toyota Dealership. Well, my mom convinced me take to a mechanic she goes to "sometimes". It took them a week to fix it and when I got it back it wasn't running as good( cranking up hard, burning through gas)

*The Devil is a busy ass character...he just doesn't want me to happy..*

Back to the story. So the car is leaking something. I think its oil. So I check my oil. It's low. So every week, I put two quarts of oil in the car and send a prayer up to God to get me back and forth to work, cuz I can't afford a new car on what I'm making. So, again, my mother has a idea, to get a oil change. So I go for an oil change and they say,"Your car is leaking transmission fluid, I would have it towed your mechanic..." Then they ask me what got done on the car. My dumb ass doesn't know because I let my mother handle it. So now I'm at my mother's fuming, waiting for her because she ain't answering her cell...

I feel like breaking down.

Love ya'll
