Temporary Glam Fix...Claire's Airbrush Nails....

Monday, December 14, 2009

I popped into Claire's last week while in the mall and pick up this set of airbrush nails out of the clearance bin for $2.50.

It's a great temporary glam fix...When you want a different nail look without the dedication of acrylics or the money spent on a nail design...

They are a little too long for my taste but I love the design.:)

Review:Sephora Makeup Palette To Go-Warm Tones...

Happy Monday!!

I got Sephora Makeup Palette To Go in Warm Tones via the "Sephora Gift Card Hustle"....

-I got $15 GC email from Sephora
-Picked a $15 item
-Used a free shipping code for $25 and over that went thru and paid no tax ( Sephora for some reason doesn't tax SC residents)
-Got the palette for Free :)
Its about big as the palm of my hand, as you can see...
Comes with 8 eyeshadows( two are mattes, the rest are shimmers and satins), a peachy, NARS Orgasm-esque blush, and three lipsticks and a gloss.
The glosses SUCK. They all look bad on me. Three of them are actually lipsticks, very opaque. The shimmery pink didn't even show up on me. The tray the lippies are on, barely comes all the way out. Bad product design.
The blush is great. A very all around blush, blended perfectly...love it.:)
The first look I did was a neutral look. The champagne shimmer e/s and peach e/s' were very hard to blend. The Champagne shimmer e/s was actually chalky. The shadows are so hit or miss. I didn't like that at all.
I looked a little 'gray' even though I used the peach and champagne shades...
Here's a smokey look I did with the green matte color. Its divine. I wish that the palette had a matte vanilla shade instead of the vanilla shimmer...

Consensus: Not worth $15 and I glad I didn't spend a dime! lol! Really, the shadow quality was all over the place then the lippies are worth two cents. However, its great to travel with. You could create day and night looks with it. I think as a 'Warm' palette is caters to a much lighter warm skin tones and not to my brown 'warm' skin.

Review: Michael Kors Very Hollywood....

Friday, December 11, 2009

I was super happy to get a Michael Kors Very Hollywood perfume sample in my Sephora order....

Here's a description of the scent off his site:

'The Eau de Parfum makes its debut with shimmering jewels of mandarin and iced bergamot. Scene-stealing gardenia follows suit with a decadent performance of award-worthy glamour.'

Rural Glamour Opinion: It smells EXACTLY like the original Michael Kors, with lots of up front gardenia. I like it but its not a fresh take from his scents. I expected more. The bottle is absolutely fabulous. If I had 'collector' money I would buy it for the bottle but for now, I'll pass.

Review: Victoria's Secret Love Rocks Perfume....

Thursday, December 10, 2009

See this?!! I got this cute black clutch with 5 deluxe samples in it from Victoria's Secret for $15 with any beauty purchase...so many great things to try and rock at a great price!! One of the goodies I was excited about wearing was the new scent Love Rocks.... Its the red roll on in the picture:).
According to the website, the notes for Love Rocks are:

Fragrance type: fruity floral

Top notes: bergamot, peony, raspberry sorbet

Middle notes: sandalwood flower, jasmine, peach nectar, plum, stephanotis

Low notes: golden amber, violet, cashmere musk, vanilla

Its described as a 'fruity floral' but I know an amber/bergamot/sandalwood based scent when I smell one!!! It's more spicy and oriental. I really didn't catch the floral on the initial application or on the dry down. Its reminded me of the Halle Scent...

But to have so many 'heavy' bases, its very light. Not overwhelming. You could discreetly wear this at night...subtle sexiness....

Overall, I like it but doubt I will invest in a full size. I have sooo many warm, spicy scents very similar to Love Rocks. Alot of companies are doing that warm " floral" thing now.....

Review: Santee Mineral Eye Colors in #4.....

I picked up this Santee Mineral Eye Colors Palette in #4 because the colors where so warm and fall-like AND all in one palette!

I probably have all these colors or similar to these colors in singles and other palette but to have them all together and for $3 was not a shabby deal.:)
It says they are "mineral". **shrugs**I don't get it but the colors are beautiful, light pigmented, just enough to give you color....
This look is good for a daytime, work color eye look. Subtle but has lots of punch....
